Meet Dorothy 🤍 — a 9-year-old little soul who came to us from one of our rural shelter partners after being found as a stray. When Dorothy arrived at the shelter, she was absolutely petrified. The noise, the unfamiliar faces, and the uncertainty were overwhelming for her, and as an older dog with medical needs, she truly didn’t stand a chance when difficult decisions were being made. We knew we couldn’t leave her there. Dorothy is a tiny girl, weighing just 11 pounds, and appears to be some kind of Maltipoo/Chihuahua/something-adorable mix. She does have a very significant, baseball-sized mass on her abdomen that will need to be surgically removed, and she’ll be seeing our vet soon to address her medical needs. Once that mass is gone, she’ll be even smaller — and so much more comfortable. Despite everything she’s been through, Dorothy is incredibly sweet and loving. She does amazing with other dogs and truly enjoys their company, often finding comfort just being near them. She’s currently in foster with Bertha, and the two are doing wonderfully together. Dorothy also loves all people, and on her very first day in foster, she fell asleep in her foster’s arms — exhausted, safe, and finally able to relax after so much uncertainty. Dogs like Dorothy remind us why we do this work. She is safe today because someone said yes, because a foster opened their heart and home, and because this community continues to step up for the dogs who need it most 🐾✨

She had a good caring family since being a puppy, but mostly she lived in garage because the family is believing dogs should be outside outdoor but she did went in the house for a visit with kids played and went back to garage. Mostly she was tied up because she likes to explore far away into the neighborhood and the family were changing lifestyle of traveling so they gave her to us as friends and now it’s sad to see her mostly in the cage because if she would run freely, she runs very far to other neighbors and since we live on highway, it’s dangerous and we don’t wanna see her to be hit and die, but she’s very smart very sweet, playful, loving explorers the best character I ever seen in dogs, but we cannot provide lifestyle for her that she needs because our lives are busy and we cannot leave her independently outside or inside so we wish for her to have a better home where it suits her needs.

Chip was adopted to a couple for two years and then they decided to have a baby so Chip became unwanted. He was returned to the rescue. He is very playful. He is a jumper but he’s only wanting to play. He is house trained. He gets along with other dogs He would be great with a family with older children who would play with him. Liberty was a stray found in a local neighborhood, dirty and matted, so needed to be completely shaved. She has grown some of her beautiful hair back and is filling out nicely. She has been through a lot of changes so will need a family who can let her decompress on her own schedule. Liberty is about 8-9 lbs, is friendly, but will need an adopter with a bit of patience and time to earn her trust. We believe Liberty will acclimate better in a quieter, calm home with no small children. She does fine with other dogs and new people who give her some space to approach on her own. She will need regular grooming to keep her fine hair in good shape once she grows it all back! You can tell from her beautiful, curly tail, what her hair is like! She is fine whether being carried or snuggling in her crate. Est. DOB Jan. 2024 WE ONLY ADOPT LOCALLY WITHIN A 2 HOUR RADIUS OF THE TRICOUNTY AREA. ***Exceptions may be made for seniors or hard to place dogs. If the animal is under the age of 3 years old or has health issues, a vet reference is required which means you must own a pet or have owned a pet in your name. Adoption fee of $465 covers all vetting including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip heartworm test and treatment if needed and any other medical that may be required while in rescue. We only do adoptions on Saturday and not all animals are able to attend so if you would like to see a specific animal please let us know so that we can make arrangements for it to be present at the event. Event locations do vary so please check the homepage to find out where we will be this week. Please do not ask us to reduce adoption fees since all fees help us to cover medical expenses for all of our animals, some of which can be very expensive. Molly was bred and had a terrible life before, but now enjoys life to the fullest! She loves doing zoomies in her fosters fenced yard and loves all the other dogs. Her tongue hangs out a bit due to the extractions she had to have. She does spin sometimes, a lingering affect of living in a cage much of her life and feeling anxious. She is fostered in an all adult home, with dogs and cats. Molly is 10 yrs old and weighs 9.8 lb. She loves to be where you are! Looking for a close companion and are willing to be patient as she adjusts? Then Molly may be the girl for you. Spay, vaccines, microchip provided.
