Story
Meet Cheddar Biscuit! 🧀🐾
A lovable little senior gentleman looking for his perfect retirement home!
Meet Cheddar Biscuit, an approximately 14-year-old small-breed gentleman with an irresistibly round figure, an adorable face, and plenty of golden-years charm!
Cheddar Biscuit came to Cactus Ranch Rescue from the Baytown shelter, where this sweet senior found himself in need of a second chance.
At an age when most dogs should be enjoying familiar routines, comfortable beds, and the security of a loving home, Cheddar Biscuit was instead facing an uncertain future.
Thankfully, his story didn’t end there.
Cheddar Biscuit is a wonderfully endearing little senior who deserves the opportunity to spend his remaining years surrounded by comfort, affection, and stability.
Like many older dogs, Cheddar Biscuit has some age-related medical considerations. He has cataracts, which may affect his vision, and significant dental disease requiring treatment.
Because of his advanced age, our veterinary team has taken additional precautions before anesthesia, including pre-operative bloodwork, urinalysis, and 4DX testing.
We are happy to report that Cheddar Biscuit tested negative for heartworms!
His dental procedure is being planned as part of his ongoing medical care.

Cheddar Biscuit’s Ideal Forever Home
Cheddar Biscuit is searching for a loving family that appreciates the special rewards of adopting a senior dog.
His ideal adopters will understand that older pets sometimes need additional veterinary care, accommodations for age-related changes, and patience as they adjust to a new environment.
Because he has cataracts, a predictable household layout and gentle guidance may be helpful as he navigates his surroundings.
His future family should also be prepared to monitor his weight, support his dental health, and provide regular veterinary care to maintain his comfort and quality of life.
A peaceful, stable household with comfortable resting places and plenty of affection would be a wonderful setting for his retirement years.
Cheddar Biscuit may be well into his golden years, but that doesn’t make him any less deserving of the love, security, and companionship of a forever family.
Fourteen years old isn’t too old to start a new chapter. Sometimes the sweetest love stories begin with a gray muzzle and a second chance. ❤️
