I was happy to have my sister with me, but so sad that she's passed away. You see our person, also, passed away and no one in the family wanted us so we were whisked off to the loud county shelter. I huddled together, with my sister, trying to act brave, but in truth I was scared to death. Then a friendly face appeared to take me to a place with lots of other dogs my size. I'm fine with other small dogs. I've been through a lot for 14 years old, but I'm hopefully that someone wants a sweet, tiny girl like me.

I got her as a puppy when I was looking for a small, beautiful, cuddly companion to keep me company, and she was perfect for that phase of my life. She’s sweet, affectionate, and loves attention . However, my life has changed significantly - my work schedule is much busier, I’m expecting a baby, and I’m dealing with health issues. I love her, but I can’t provide the time, attention, and active lifestyle she deserves. She needs a home where someone has the time and energy to give her structure, and be present with her. She’s energetic and would thrive with someone who can give her more than I currently can. I want what’s best for her, which is why I’m looking for the right fit - someone who actually wants an active small dog and can give her the life she deserves.

A foster-to-adopt option is available for me, giving us the chance to get to know each other before making it official! Meet Paxton! This 9-year-old miniature poodle is a senior with plenty of personality. He can sometimes show a bit of attitude, so we recommend a home without small children. Paxton enjoys walks on a leash but would thrive with a small, dog-approved fenced yard where he can safely explore and stretch his legs. He gets along well with other dogs and would make a wonderful companion for the right family. Paxton weighs 8lbs. and is approximately 9 years old (est. birth date 01/29/2016). Paxton has been neutered, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped. Paxton's adoption fee is $85. If you want more information about Paxton, please submit a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. At this time, meeting our dogs is by appointment only. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. I won’t hesitate to jump right into your arms to shower you with kisses and soak up every bit of love you’re willing to give.Because I’m so people-oriented, I do experience **separation anxiety** and become distressed when I’m left alone. A Victor is a precious miniature poodle mix. He came to us with an injured leg that required amputation. He has adjusted very well and loves to run. Victor is crate trained and can walk on a leash. Victor requires a home with a secure fenced yard that is appropriate for a small breed dog. Victor will need a home with no small children. He is very loving, but can be protective of his people and toys. Victor does not have a bite history, but needs a family that understands small dogs with an attitude.
