Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Buffy and Tina are buddies who need to find a home together.  Buffy is a maltese and Tina is a chihuahua. Their owner was a homeless woman so these two little dogs were very dependant on each other.  They were frequently left alone for long periods of time.  Buffy is a little skittish around strange people at first but warms up quickly to anyone with a lap for her to snuggle on. Tina is a little more nervous and is frightened of men.  Both love their walks and sniffing out all the new smells.  Both are crate, leash and potty trained and love treats and snoozing on the couch.  Both are UTD on shots, spayed and on flea preventatives.  Neither has ever been around small children. The perfect home would be a quiet husehold with a patient loving lady and a fenced yard to play in.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 3, 2026, 6:29 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Meet Leroy Leroy is a doodle mix, estimated to be around 4+ years old, with a big personality, a strong will, and a whole lot of love to give once you’ve earned his trust. At his core, Leroy is a companion dog. He would much rather be lying at your feet, soaking up affection, and hanging out with his person than doing just about anything else. He’s generally calm and relaxed when he’s with his people and would prefer everyone around him to be calm too. Sometimes he appoints himself the “fun police” when things get too rowdy, although every now and then he decides to join in. Leroy is also very vocal. If he is separated from people, sees someone he wants to be with, or gets excited in the car, he can bark—a lot. This is something we are actively working on, but Leroy is stubborn and pretty set in his ways, so it will require continued consistency and management. He is currently best managed by someone comfortable using training tools such as a bark collar or e-collar appropriately and responsibly. Leroy is not a beginner dog. He is extremely self-assured, stubborn, and accustomed to having opinions about how things should go. He knows commands and will listen, but he isn’t the type of dog who automatically gives every person his cooperation. With Leroy, respect is something you build through consistency, confidence, boundaries, and a calm presence. During that process, he may challenge a new handler. He can nip or bite when frustrated, pressured, or when guarding something he values, such as a bone. Because of that, Leroy needs someone who understands dog behavior, recognizes warning signs, and is comfortable being proactive instead of waiting for a situation to escalate. He does not need someone who is harsh with him. He needs someone with a strong personality, good timing, clear expectations, and the confidence to calmly follow through. Once Leroy understands that relationship, a very different side of him comes through—the affectionate, loyal, funny dog who genuinely wants to be close to his person. Even after trust is established, Leroy will probably always be Leroy: stubborn, opinionated, vocal, occasionally dramatic, and very much his own dog. For the wrong person, Leroy can be intimidating and frustrating. For the right person, he is a loving companion with a ton of personality who simply needs someone capable of understanding him, staying consistent, and maintaining the relationship they build together. Leroy isn’t looking for someone who just wants an easy dog. He’s looking for someone experienced enough to appreciate the dog he actually is—someone willing to earn his trust, put maintain his respect, work through his quirks, and give him the companionship he clearly wants. For that person, Leroy can be one heck of a good boy.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 3, 2026, 6:29 am
