She has lived in the same home for the past 6½ years and loves nothing more than being close to her person. She’s a true lap dog who enjoys cuddling and especially loves being carried like a baby. Dusty is primarily an indoor dog and is accustomed to using wee-wee pads. She enjoys a quiet, predictable routine and is happiest relaxing at home with her favorite person. She was never formally trained and has had limited exposure to new environments, other dogs, and young children, so she will do best with someone who understands her background and can help her continue to build confidence. As she's gotten older, Dusty has remained incredibly affectionate with the people she knows and trusts, but she can also be sensitive and easily startled. When she feels frightened or overwhelmed, she may respond by growling, showing her teeth, or biting as a way of communicating that she needs space.
