Story
We have a transport leaving in May 23rd 2026 from where we are located in Southern California to NorCal, OR, and surrounding states as needed for our adopting families where we bring our dogs all the way to their homes 💗 For peace of mind we never ask for anything up front. The adoption fee along with your share of travel costs will be due the day we arrive in person ultimately finalizing the adoption then and there with you. We would love to add Chloe to our trip for the right family 😊 Meet Chloe 💙 Chloe is a Shih Poo (Shih Tzu × Poodle mix) who was born on 10/25/24. At just 9.5 lbs fully grown, she is the perfect little companion size, small enough to curl perfectly into your lap, tuck beside you in bed, or quietly follow you from room to room as though she’s always belonged there. Some dogs are independent. Some are adventurous. Some are perfectly content entertaining themselves for hours at a time. And then there’s Chloe. Chloe is the kind of little dog who builds her world around you. She doesn’t just want a home, she wants a person. A best friend. A shadow. A quiet companion to follow from room to room while she watches your every move with those soft little eyes that somehow say, “There you are… exactly where I wanted you to be.” She is happiest curled beside her human, tucked at the end of the bed by your feet, resting peacefully while simply being near you. If you’re looking for the kind of dog that loves everyone equally and spends most of their day off doing their own thing, Chloe probably isn’t that girl. But if you’ve been searching for a deeply devoted little companion who wants to share life with you in the smallest, sweetest ways… Chloe may be everything you’ve been missing. She would thrive most in a home with someone retired, home often, or someone who works remotely and genuinely enjoys having a constant little sidekick nearby. Chloe doesn’t ask for much in life. She doesn’t need endless adventures or busy outings. Truthfully, her favorite place in the world is simply wherever you are. She absolutely adores being in bed with her person and has decided this is a non-negotiable part of life 😅 She sleeps respectfully at the foot of the bed all night long, perfectly content just being close. Of course, if invited up for cuddles, she happily accepts the opportunity. Total lap dog. Total snuggle bug. Total emotional support princess. Chloe is crate trained and does fine when needed, though she may protest for a minute or two first in hopes you’ll reconsider your decision 😂 But once she understands there’s no negotiating to be done, she settles nicely. That said, if her future family prefers no crate at all… Chloe fully supports that arrangement. She is fully housetrained, wonderful in the car, and does beautifully with routine. She’s also excellent for grooming and has become very comfortable being handled, brushed, bathed, and pampered. Her soft, hypoallergenic coat will require regular grooming appointments throughout her life to keep her comfortable and mat free. Chloe is wonderful with other dogs and truly enjoys playful companionship, but she does not need another dog in the home to be happy. Her deepest bond will always be with her human. In many ways, she’d probably love being the center of someone’s world. On leash, Chloe is still learning that she doesn’t need to greet every dog or person with immediate excitement 😅 She can become vocal when overstimulated simply because she’s eager to say hello and struggles with impulse control in those moments. She is not aggressive whatsoever, just expressive and enthusiastic. She will do best with a calm, confident owner willing to continue teaching her proper leash manners and helping her feel secure navigating the world without reacting to every exciting thing she sees. If you’re someone who dreams of long hiking trips every weekend or wants a dog constantly on the go, Chloe may not be your perfect match. But if your idea of happiness is slow mornings, cozy evenings, companionship while working from home, movie nights, errands together, quiet routines, and a little dog following you lovingly from room to room… Chloe fits that life beautifully. Chloe came to us after a young couple made the heartbreaking but loving decision to surrender her when they could no longer afford her care or basic veterinary needs. They loved her dearly and wanted more for her than they were able to provide. Since arriving with us, Chloe has blossomed under structure, consistency, proper veterinary care, and endless love. Her adoption fee is on our website at the bottom of her adoption listing at https://www.breadoflifek9refuge.org/post/chloe-3 It includes her spay, current vaccines, microchip with registration, full veterinary exam, dental evaluation with retained baby tooth extractions to prevent future crowding issues, grooming care, training, socialization, and months of individualized attention while preparing her for the right forever home. More than anything, Chloe deserves someone who sees her sensitive little heart for exactly what it is — loyal, devoted, loving, and incredibly special. She isn’t looking for just any home. She’s waiting for her person. 💙

Story
Meet Grandma Croissant! Grandma Croissant is a small senior dog with a long history behind her and a much softer chapter ahead. She came to us after being found tied up outside, with severely matted hair that suggested years of neglect. Thanks to a kind passerby, she is now safe and receiving the care she always deserved. She has since had a full veterinary workup. Grandma Croissant is both blind and deaf, and she is currently living with advanced dental disease. She has a dental procedure scheduled, which we hope will bring her some much-needed comfort. Based on her condition, she is estimated to be between 14 and 18 years old. Right now, she is adjusting to a life of warmth, soft bedding, and regular meals. She spends most of her time resting and benefits from a calm, predictable environment. Because she cannot see, a small and consistent space will help her safely learn her surroundings. Grandma Croissant is looking for a home that understands the needs of a super senior dog. She will require patience, gentle handling, and a commitment to keeping her comfortable. In return, she offers quiet companionship and the opportunity to provide dignity and care in her final stage of life. She may be a good fit for a variety of homes, as long as they can provide the time and stability she needs. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled on Instagram (@nwdogproject) for updates! If you would like to be considered as Croissant's forever home, be sure to submit an adoption application on our website! Adoption fee includes; spay/neuter, microchip, microchip registration, dewormer, fecal testing, flea/tick prevention and age-appropriate vaccines. Grandma Croissant would do great in a home with...Cats : Yep! Dogs : Yep!  Kiddos : Yep!   ##2711965##

Story
Pending adoption We have a transport leaving in May 23rd 2026 from where we are located in Southern California to NorCal, OR, and surrounding states as needed for our adopting families where we bring our dogs all the way to their homes 💗 For peace of mind we never ask for anything up front. The adoption fee along with your share of travel costs will be due the day we arrive in person ultimately finalizing the adoption then and there with you. We would love to add Honey to our trip for the right family 😊 Honey is the kind of little girl who doesn’t rush into your heart… she gently finds her way there, and once she does, she stays forever. At just 11 months old and weighing right around 7–8 pounds, Honey is fully grown and perfectly petite. She is a Maltese/Yorkie mix with the soft, silky coat of a Maltese and just the sweetest little Yorkie features peeking through in her face and ears. She truly is the most beautiful blend of both breeds—delicate, feminine, and absolutely endearing. Honey came to us needing a little time, a little patience, and a lot of love—and she has blossomed so beautifully in our care. She can be shy when first meeting new people, but this is not a dog who stays in her shell forever. With just a little patience, her personality begins to shine, and when it does, you’ll see the sweetest, most loyal little companion unfold right in front of you. She is wonderful with other dogs and does great with cats as well. She is also very gentle with people and children, making her a beautiful addition to a loving, patient home. Once Honey gives you her heart, it is yours completely—she bonds deeply and loves quietly but fully. Honey is doing very well with her house training. She understands going outside and follows the lead of the other dogs here beautifully. With that said, she thrives on routine, and we strongly recommend her next home provides a consistent schedule to help her continue succeeding. She has come such a long way with car rides. When she first arrived, she experienced some car sickness, but through consistency and short trips around town, she has completely overcome that and is now learning to truly enjoy being part of the journey. She is becoming a wonderful little road trip companion. She is great at the groomer and handles grooming with ease, which is so important for a coat like hers that will require regular maintenance every 6–8 weeks. Her leash training is coming along nicely. She is still building confidence, but she is learning and improving, and with continued patience and exposure, she will only continue to grow in this area. Inside the home, Honey has beautiful manners. She enjoys playing but is not destructive in any way. She is just as content lounging nearby or entertaining herself as she is curling up close when invited. She brings a very peaceful, easy energy into the home. Honey is crate trained, which means she sleeps peacefully through the night in her crate and will also use it during the day when she wants to rest. She finds comfort in having her own little space. She is also a very quiet dog and not a barker, which has been such a lovely trait. Honey is scheduled to be spayed this week and will be thoroughly vetted and cleared by our veterinarian prior to adoption. She will go home current on vaccines, microchipped, and with a full veterinary exam and health certificate. Her adoption fee is on our website at the bottom of her adoption listing at https://www.breadoflifek9refuge.org/post/honey-2 which reflects the care she has received while with us. Honey is not for someone looking for instant confidence. She is for someone who understands that the most meaningful bonds are built over time… someone who will give her the space to open up, the patience to grow, and the love to become everything she is meant to be. And when she does… she will be yours, completely. 💗
