Story
Meet Brisas Breed: Terrier Mix Sex: Female DOB: August 27, 2023 Weight: 30 Pounds Health: Healthy and doing well Brisas is a joyful, bright-spirited girl with a heart full of love and a smile that lights up every room. At just under two years old, she has the perfect mix of playful energy and affectionate companionship. Sadly, Brisas has become one of the rescue’s long-timers, patiently waiting while other dogs leave for their forever homes. Despite the wait, she continues to greet people with happiness and hope, always ready to make a new friend. Personality Brisas is a happy, friendly dog who truly enjoys being around people. She has a cheerful personality and brings a sense of warmth and positivity wherever she goes. She loves attention, enjoys playtime, and thrives when she feels included in the moment. Brisas is the type of dog who will greet you with excitement when you walk through the door and happily stay close by your side throughout the day. Breed Info Terrier mixes are known for their intelligence, playful spirit, and loyal nature. They tend to be curious dogs who enjoy exploring their surroundings and engaging with their families. Many terriers are energetic and thrive with regular exercise and mental stimulation. With the right balance of activity, structure, and affection, terrier mixes become incredibly loving and devoted companions. Owner Responsibilities Brisas will do best with an adopter who can provide regular exercise, companionship, and opportunities for play and engagement. Daily walks, interactive playtime, and positive reinforcement training will help her stay happy and well balanced. Dogs like Brisas flourish when they feel included in family life and have a consistent routine that helps them feel secure. &#226&#154&#160&#239&#184&#143 Things to Consider Before adopting Brisas, it’s important to think about your long-term stability and readiness. Are pets allowed where you live now and in the future? If you move, will Brisas move with you? Do you have time each day for companionship, walks, and play? Are you financially prepared for routine veterinary care, food, and unexpected medical needs? Adoption means making a lifelong commitment to your dog through all stages of life. Vet Care Even though Brisas is healthy, adopters should establish care with their own veterinarian as soon as possible after adoption. This helps ensure preventative care continues properly and provides a trusted medical partner for her long-term health. Understanding the 3-3-3 Rule Like most rescue dogs, Brisas will need time to adjust to her new home. The first 3 days she may feel unsure as she decompresses from the transition. The first 3 weeks she will begin learning your routine and feeling more comfortable. By 3 months, her confidence will grow and her loving personality will truly shine. Patience and consistency during this time will help her settle in and thrive. Why Brisas? Brisas has been waiting patiently for someone to see the wonderful dog she truly is. She is happy, affectionate, and ready to bring joy into the life of the family who finally gives her a chance. Long-timer dogs like Brisas often become the most devoted companions because they appreciate the love and stability of a real home. All she needs now is someone willing to open their heart and give her the forever home she’s been dreaming of. Story
Eve, Female, 7 years old, black and tan, Manchester and Min pin mix, Shelter Survivor. Eve busted out of jail (the shelter) and is now looking for her forever home! She starts off skittish and scared but will warm up and play...especially with other dogs (she is shown in photo #3 with her buddy "Manny". She is crate and potty trained as well! Eve will require someone that has an enormous amount of patience... it takes a long time for her to come over for petting. She won't bite, but she is just afraid of people. She LOVE LOVE LOVES dogs. We have not cat tested Eve, however, we have seen her around a very small fluffy chihuahua and she seemed a little too interested in wanting to chase her. We do think she has prey drive and we think she may chase cats and bunnies. To be clear... Eve is she is great with dogs but very shy/scared of new people. She takes a while to warm up to you for you to touch her. She doesn’t bite. She is actually very sweet once she trusts you. However, if she does get scared she will try to “run” so you have to be aware that her response to fear is to run. She needs a secure house and yard for this reason. She is still a work in progress and will need a dedicated and experienced dog person to give her the chance she deserves. She is sweet, beautiful and an all around pleasant girl. Eve's ideal home is one with patient, predictable, calm humans and a secure YARD. Perhaps a good doggie to mirror and learn the ropes at your home. If you are interested in Eve, Please fill out OUR adoption application, we do not accept Adopt-a-Pet applications. Our application is located on our website www.k9spirit.org
