I want a loving family who will take me on adventures, then love on me while winding down. I don't like it when you focus on other dogs and sometimes I push them out of the way so I can be the center of attention! I have the sweetest face and my "love to be with you" attitude is the best kind to have! I am a medium sized girl and that makes me super PORTABLE! Take me with you to the beach, the mountains, the BATHROOM... I don't care where we go, as long as you take me with you!! Meet Diamond! Diamond is a 10-month-old Chihuahua mix with a heart as bright as the little diamond marking on her chest. This sweet, submissive girl is incredibly cuddly and would spend all day in your lap if she could. She settled in quickly at the rescue and showed right away how gentle, innocent, and people-loving she is. Diamond is wonderfully kid-friendly—she was comfortable interacting and playing with children from the very start, even trying to encourage them to join in her fun. She’s also been nothing but loving and polite with all the adults she’s met. This playful little pup would thrive with a toy box to rummage through, and she’d be delighted to have either a human or a dog companion to play with. Despite being young, she’s already potty trained and hasn’t had a single accident inside! The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.    The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.   It doesn’t stop there!
