Meet Savvy!
Savvy has been waiting for her forever family for a little while now, and the more we get to know her, the more we love this beautiful girl. She is such a loving, smart, fun-loving girl who absolutely adores her people. Once Savvy knows you’re her person, she wants to be right there with you and soak up all the love and attention she can get.
Savvy is spayed, potty trained, and crate trained, and she is a very smart girl who loves learning—especially when treats are involved! She already knows the commands “sit” and “down” and does really well with training when she knows there’s a tasty reward waiting for her. Her intelligence and willingness to learn make her such a fun dog to work with.
Savvy loves staying active and enjoys walks, playing with her dog friends, and spending time with her favorite people. She has an adventurous side and would love a family who enjoys walks, hikes, runs, or other activities together. But don't let her adventurous spirit fool you—Savvy is also perfectly happy to settle in for a nap and enjoy some quiet time with her people.
And then there are the toys. Savvy LOVES toys…although she has a slightly different idea of what they're for. She believes toys are much more fun once she gets to the inside of them! She's also a big fan of treats, attention, and showing off her playful personality.
Savvy gets along with most dogs, but she can be unsure of certain dogs and people and may be reactive in those situations. She will need a family who is willing to continue working with her, building her confidence, and helping her learn that new or exciting situations don't have to be scary. She can also pull on leash when she spots something extra exciting, like a bird or squirrel, so continued leash training will help her become an even better walking buddy.
Savvy loves children, but because of her size and strength, she should be supervised around them. A home without cats would be best, as Savvy enjoys chasing things that catch her attention.
More than anything, Savvy needs someone who will see the wonderful dog underneath the things she's still learning. She is incredibly loving, smart, loyal, and eager to please her people. With patience, consistency, and continued positive training, Savvy has so much potential to be an amazing companion.
After spending so much time getting to know Savvy, we know one thing for sure—this girl has a LOT of love to give. She is ready for someone to choose her, give her the time and guidance she deserves, and let her finally be someone's forever girl.
