Story
Savvy is the kind of dog who greets you like you've been gone for years—even if it's only been five minutes. She's incredibly loving, loyal, and happiest when she's right by her person's side. Whether it's cuddle time on the couch, heading out for a walk, or simply hanging out together, Savvy is all in as long as she's with her favorite humans.
Once she feels safe and comfortable, Savvy's playful personality shines. She loves getting pets and attention, burrowing under blankets, going for walks, and playing with dog friends she already knows and trusts. She can entertain herself, but she'd much rather be involved in whatever her people are doing.
Savvy has a moderate-to-high energy level and would thrive in an active household that can provide daily exercise, enrichment, and continued training. A fenced yard where she can safely explore would be a huge bonus. She is a strong girl who can jump surprisingly high, so secure fencing and supervision are important. The good news? She's not destructive and has been a wonderful houseguest in her foster home.
Did we mention she's highly food motivated? Treats are the way to Savvy's heart and make training both fun and rewarding.
Savvy can be protective of her person when meeting new people and may need a few meetings before she fully warms up. She likes to take her time getting to know people and new situations, but once she trusts you, her affectionate and loyal nature shines through.
With other dogs, Savvy is selective. She's interested in making friends but prefers slow introductions and doesn't appreciate dogs who come on too strong. She enjoys playing with dogs she already knows, but she would do best as the only dog in her forever home where she doesn't feel the need to be on guard or share the spotlight.
Savvy is continuing to work on her training and managing her reactivity. She can be uncomfortable with bikes and people who zoom past her unexpectedly, so she'll do best with adopters who are committed to helping her build confidence and continue making progress.
Savvy's ideal home is one where she can be the center of attention, receive plenty of love and guidance, and enjoy an active lifestyle with her people. If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who will adore you endlessly, keep you company on adventures, and then happily snuggle under a blanket at the end of the day, Savvy might just be your perfect match.
