Story
Hi, everyone. My beautiful boy needs to be placed in a loving home with lots of land to roam and other animals to play with. I received him as a rescue from horrible conditions last year when he was about 10 weeks. I had NO IDEA what type of pup he was...just wanted to help him. I did a DNA test on him and discovered he was a GP & Husky mix. He has the sweetest temperament and I've literally NEVER heard him growl. He LOVES kids but can be a little rough bcoz of his size. He has never bitten or tried to bite anyone. His only issue is that he loves to eat human food. 😅 I apologize now. He DOES eat dog food tho...I promise.😅 Unfortunately, he has gotten too big for our small home. We do have a decent back yard, I guess, but it is tooo close to a main access road, as we are right on a corner. When he manages to escape, he literally stops traffic because he doesn't know how to dodge the vehicles. He's starting to love being outside now. He only comes in to be nosy or to sleep at night.

Story
Meet Sunshine Louise! This beautiful Anatolian Shepard/Great Pyrenees mix is super sweet and wants to be your best friend. She currently weights about 90 lbs. She is house trained (she will ring bells on the back door to go outside). She is very well behaved and does not require a crate indoors. Sunshine is a very, very laid back girl….until she feels the need to guard her home. We are unsure of her age, but the guess is around 6 years old. She is smart and very treat motivated. She loves to go on walks especially first thing in the morning and after the sun goes down. She LOVES people and kids! She is good with other dogs as long as they respect her boundaries. She easily integrates into a pack, but remains kind of a loner. She is spayed, (after having 10 puppies), microchipped and up to date on all vaccinations. She has also completed Heart Worm treatment. Sunshine loves belly rubs and pets. She will look lovingly and longingly into your eyes like she knows that her life has been saved and she is so very grateful. She is a very calm girl who prefers to lay on the cool floor. She is a “guardian” breed and will quietly take up a position (usually in a doorway) and just relax. She knows basic commands but does have a stubborn streak. Usually a treat will encourage her to follow your directions. Sunshine does have a high prey drive, so no cats or tiny toy breeds please. She also has a history of fence jumping to pursue wildlife, so a privacy fence would be ideal. If you would like to meet this precious girl and make her part of your family, please complete an application at https://forrescue.net/dog-application/ Sunshine is located in North Alabama with transport available to your area. Friends of Rescue requires a virtual home visit and vet reference prior to all adoptions. All Friends of Rescue animals are indoor family members.
