Hi, my name is Xena. When I got here, the people who called me in said I was aggressive. So everyone expected me to be scary. But if you ask the people who actually took the time to meet me, they’ll tell you a completely different story. I’m just a big, goofy baby. I love people so much that I think every single person who walks through the door came just to see me. I’ll happily wag my tail and come say hello because making new friends is my favorite thing. I’m very polite, too. I take treats as gently as I can, I walk nicely on a leash, and I’m already housebroken. Bath time? I don’t mind it at all! Give me some yummy snacks afterward, and I’ll be your best friend forever. I absolutely LOVE food and treats—they’re definitely the way to my heart. I know a few simple commands, and I’m always happy to learn more if it means spending time with my favorite humans. Other dogs make me a little nervous. I’m not mean—I can just be a little scared and unsure around them, so I’d appreciate slow introductions and someone who understands that I need a little confidence. The nice people here think I’m around 3 or 4 years old, maybe a little older, but nobody knows for sure. What they do know is that I’m the biggest baby at the shelter. Sometimes first impressions are wrong. Mine certainly was. All I really want is a family who will look past the rumors, see my gentle heart, and give me the chance I’ve been waiting for. I promise I’ll fill your home with love, wagging tails, and lots of happy greetings every time you walk through the door. Could you be my second chance? Love, Xena ❤️
