Story
Meet Wayne, the Cane Corso! Wayne is a magnificent canine companion with a heart as big as his stature. This gentle giant takes his role as protector of his family and home seriously, showcasing his loyal and loving nature each day. With his impressive size and protective instincts, Wayne is the epitome of a devoted guardian. Despite his imposing appearance, Wayne is a social butterfly when it comes to other dogs. He enjoys their company and thrives in environments where he can engage in supervised playtime. However, his sheer size necessitates caution around smaller animals, ensuring everyone's safety. Wayne is not just a handsome face; he's also a well-mannered gentleman indoors. He is fully house-trained and finds comfort in his crate, making him a breeze to care for. With his calm demeanor and impeccable manners, Wayne is a joy to have around the house. What Wayne craves most is an active and affectionate home where he can shower his family with love and receive plenty of attention in return. He thrives on activity and would be the perfect companion for outdoor adventures or simply lounging around with his loved ones. If you're seeking a loyal and loving companion who will stand by your side through thick and thin, look no further than Wayne. Come meet this wonderful Cane Corso and discover the unwavering devotion he has to offer!March 26, 2024, 9:34 pm

Story
Sweetie is a year and a half old. I got her from a friend after my Corgi McNab passed. I had recently retired so I had a lot of time to spend with her. Unfortunately, due to health issues of a family member, numerous upcoming medical appointments and then a change in our living space, it feels very unfair for her to be in a small area and not get the activity she needs and deserves. She is crate trained, loves to play fetch and tug of war!, knows sit, shake, we are working on stay😊she would be a lap dog if she could and knows when I'm sad😔 She has the most expressive face of any dog I know, is smart and willing to learn. This is very difficult for me but I know in my heart it's what is best for Sweetie. My hope is for someone to love her as much as I do have a large area for play, she runs like a racehorse! Thank you.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Thor is a wonderfully, silly, happy, goofy boy! There is nothing about Thor that is unlikable; he thinks he's a lap dog so watch were you put your feet because he may just sit on them. He also can be protective so introductions should be supervised.  Upon arrival to his foster home, Thor was very shy and a little skittish until he warmed up to me. He was sad for awhile as well because he missed his family and needed time to adjust. We are looking for a furever home that has experience with the Mastiff breed. If you do not have previous experience please do not apply. Thor's personality is such that he needs to be part of a family. He is strictly an indoor dog and is not meant to be left in a yard; he can get destructive if left outside alone. He is the definition of a couch potato and has taken residence on my sectional. Please be aware that he drools (that's the breed) and so keeping your sofa covered is the best way to keep it clean. You can train him to stay on the floor but you need to provide him with a large enough bed for him to get his entire body onto, think human size. He is a great watch dog and will bark if someone comes close to the house.  He needs to be able to go to go outside and get some fresh air and run around a bit. Thor would love a companion dog to play with but he can be picky about his companion so introductions are necessary prior to adoption approval. He absolutely loves my little 10lb dachshund and they play very well together. Some larger dogs intimidate him; especially large black dogs. His current bestie is a 1 year old, male, pit-mix. He also eats about 4 cups of food a day which means he gets fed twice a day to prevent bloat, which this breed is particularly prone to. Overall, Thor is an amazing companion. He is very intelligent as well as extremely sensitive so shouting and loud noises scare him. He loves to go where you go and if he gets to ride in the car he will take up the entire back seat, lol! Please consider this goofy boy and give him a furever home. We are requiring that Thor's furever home have the following: ~A place in your home as an indoor dog so that he can socialize with family. ~An adopter with previous Mastiff experience.    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.We encourage adopters from all over the Greater New England Area and will do our absolute best to accommodate you in arranging for transportation if you choose to adopt a dachshund from FDR. If your dachshund of choice is coming from a state other than the one you reside in, there will be an additional $60.00 Health Certificate Fee that is required by law. Thank you for supporting a dachshund in need.September 20, 2023, 12:05 am
