Story
Meet Shelby: 107 Pounds of Pure Sweetness (and Stuffed Animal Enthusiast!) Look at that beautiful face! Shelby is a gorgeous Mastiff mix who tips the scales at a sturdy 107 pounds. But don't let her giant size fool you—she is an absolute softie with a heart of gold. Shelby’s absolute favorite pastime is carrying her beloved stuffed "babies" around in her mouth (just check out her photos to see her showing off her favorite zebra!). She is incredibly sweet, eager for love, and gets along wonderfully with other dogs, making her an excellent candidate for a multi-dog household. While she may be a big girl, she’s got some surprising athletic skills to go with that size. Shelby is quite the climber and can effortlessly scale a 4-foot fence! Her future family will need to have a taller, secure fence or be committed to leashed potty breaks to keep this adorable Houdini safe. One important note for country living: Shelby thinks chickens are delicious snacks rather than feathered friends, so a strict "no chickens" policy is required for her forever home! If you're looking for a giant, gentle shadow who will bring her plushie collection to you when you get home, Shelby is your girl. The Quick Facts: Breed: Mastiff Mix Size: 107 lbs of love Good with Dogs: Yes! Good with Chickens: Definitely NOT. Fencing: Needs a 5ft+ secure fence (climbs 4ft easily) Quirks: Never leaves home without her stuffed animals

I can be a bit dog selective and that's okay, it just means I'm particular about my friends! NO SMALL BREED DOG! I am not too crazy about the smaller breed dogs. Think I'm cute and want to meet with me, bring your current pup for a meet and greet to see if we get along! NO CATS! I never learned to make friends with cats, so long as you have a feline free environment, I'll be the best addition to your home. Want to be my new family? Come by the shelter and see me any time Tuesday- Saturday from 12pm-5pm, no appointment needed! I am bonded to Apollo, my brother. We have been together our whole lives, and I can't imagine life without my brother. We must go home together, and our adoption fee includes the both of us! I can be worried about new people, new surroundings and touch. I prefer to take things at my own pace and will need to live in a calm environment. I get easily frustrated and can exhibit this in a variety of ways. I will need positive outlets for my energy, and a calm environment. I am a sensitive and shy pup! - I can be worried about new people, new surroundings and touch. I prefer to take things at my own pace and will need to go home to a calm environment. What my friends of SPCA of Bradley County say about me:"Zeus is a sweet boy. He is very anxious in this environment, and I would need someone who can be very patient with my brother and myself. He does not do well without his brother by his side, so they are a bonded pair. He is such a good boy though. Both Zues and his brother will need plenty of room to express themselves, and a patient soul to let them be themselves. Would you like to open your heart and home to these lovely brothers? As always, introductions to existing family members should be done slowly and over time. Our adoptions team will give you suggestions on how to introduce your new family member! Visit anytime! The Adoption Center is open Tuesday-Saturday from 12pm-5pm.
