Story
Meet Renzo (b. 7/2021), a mastiff mix who is looking for his furever family! This adorable fella has had one heck of a time... he was found in a ditch, survived parvo, needed surgery for entropion (an eye issue), and after all that found himself running out of options. He's very good with people of all ages (including kiddos!), and loves attention. Renzo does not enjoy the company of other dogs... not one bit! Since he prefers human friends, he does not need other canines in his life. This fella hasn't had the kind of attention and family love all young dogs should receive, so if you're looking for a loving, loyal, I'm-all-yours kind of guy, Renzo's taking apps! Adoptions for Renzo are limited to the area within 50 miles of Omaha so that he can continue to take advantage of free training from our certified positive reinforcement trainer. The suggested adoption donation for Renzo is $300. Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization which means that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals.  In 2021 alone, we were able to provide animal Healthcare costing over $306,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.  To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page. ##1469266##

Story
We got Koga as a puppy April 2017 and was told that he is a pure bred Mastiff. We do not have papers on him. Koga is a low energy dog that lives primarily outside. He is house trained and has not had any accidents for us when left alone in the house. He doesn't like to have his nails clipped and required calming medication or a vet visit to trim them. He loves to play with other dogs and people. He has not had much exposure to children under 10, so I cannot state how he would do in a house with little kids. Koga lives with his little sister Reeza and they do play frequently in the back yard. If he goes to a home without a dog pal, he may be sad for a short while. He has not been exposed to cats, but enjoys chasing rabbits and squirrels in the back yard. He enjoys a warm bath, being brushed, and ear rubs. Koga knows the commands of sit, stay, hold (holding an item on his nose), and get your treat.

Story
We got Reeza as a puppy in 04/19. We were told she was a purebred Mastiff, but we do not have any papers. Reeza is a high energy dog that likes to run with her big brother, chase rabbits/squirrels, go for walks, and has the propensity to dig. She is primarily an outdoor dog, but is house trained. She has not had any accidents for us when left alone, but does need chew toys or company as she does get restless after a short amount of time. Reeza does not like when people reach over a fence to pet her, but loves to have her belly and neck scratched from people within her area. She has not had much exposure to young children, so unknown how she would do in a house with kids. Reeza plays well with her brother, but she can be aggressive at times with unknown dogs. I would not recommend her going to a home with small pets unless the adoptive family is very experienced. Reeza is very cuddly with us and enjoys sitting on my lap. She knows how sits, stay, hold (items on nose), lay down.
