We are all celebrating because TATE IS HW- AND IS OFFICIALLY CLEARED TO GO ON TRANSPORT TO A FOREVER HOME 🏡 🥳 Tate is a big, handsome snuggle bug that is searching for his forever family🏡 Tate came into rescue already a 100% good boy and ready for his forever home. He is around 6 years old & a wonderful, settled pup. He is a mastiff mix that is respectful with his size and loves to give us a big beautiful smile in exchange for belly rubs🥰 Tate gets along with everyone he meets, human and animal alike, and we think he would do well in a home with or without furry siblings. He is currently in a home with two other male dogs and they get along wonderfully! He is very passive and friendly. More than anything, he wants a couch and a bed to snuggle up on and some people to spend his days with. He also LOVES car rides and will rest his head on the dash while being your shotgun rider💕 Tate is housetrained, walks well on a leash and is great with kids! He needs to be in a home without cats, but we know there is a perfect, cat-free home out there! If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN PENNSYLVANIA AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. Our rescue pets are fostered in Southern foster homes (unless otherwise stated) and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Our pets are adoptable in Alabama, Pennsylvania and New England States. Our adoption fee includes transport fee, spay/neuter, current vaccinations, deworming, heart worm test for animals over 7 months old, all necessary vetting and an interstate health certificate. Once an application is received, our team is happy to answer all of your questions and send additional pictures and videos. Thank you for thinking rescue!

Story
JAGGER IS IN HIS FOSTER HOME IN MEMPHIS, TN, AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO PA ONCE ADOPTED! Hey everybody I’m Jagger!  I wanted to stop in and introduce myself, and tell you about me. Let’s talk about how handsome( as my foster mommy tells me) I am. I have unique brindle coloring fur- that is super soft. This is perfect for the cuddle sessions I love. I have mesmerizing eyes, that wins everyone over. I am 6 months old, and about 45lbs. Definitely a solid boy I am. I am going to be big and strong when I grow up. That’s just more of me to love. I am a friendly guy- I don’t meet a stranger, and I’m good with kids. One of my favorite things is running and playing with my fur siblings and toys in the yard. After a good play session I’m down for napping in my big ole doggy bed. I am a smart guy who is learning new things daily. I am kennel trained, leash and house trained. I am fully vetted, neutered, and microchipped. The only thing I am missing is my forever family. His adoption fee of $550 includes the transport to PA. We use a licensed and registered USDA transport company that will bring Jagger up north to his new family.     If you have any questions, please email us at: newbeginnings_animalrescue@yahoo.com You can apply to adopt Jagger here: www.newbeginningsanimalrescue.net THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING ADOPTING A RESCUED PET!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 20, 2024, 1:25 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Fill out an Adoption Application If you love Bullmastiffs Gypsy is the dog for you. If you’ve never met a Bullmastiff, let me introduce you; as the saying goes, “Exercise for a Bullmastiff is moving from this sleeping spot to that sleeping spot.” Gypsy is a five-year-old Bullmastiff that came to MTM as a medical case. A team of volunteers and professionals worked hard to save her life and now she’s ready to love and entertain her forever family. Yes, love and entertain. She is playful, goofy and sweet. Her antics will make you laugh out loud and your laughter will make her happy. LIKES: Belly rubs, walks, being outside, being with people, naps on dog beds, naps on couches, naps on a cool floor, naps. And drinking from the bathtub faucet. You’ll know she’s thirsty when she’s standing in the tub, staring at the faucet and boofing at you. DISLIKES: Being told “no”. For example: if she’s laying down she sometimes needs to be coaxed into getting up. If she’s being particularly stubborn, walking out of the room should get her up and moving. PERSONALITY: Friendly and calm. Was calm in the waiting room at the Vet’s and well behaved during her appointment. TEMPERAMENT: Balanced and intelligent. Her world has been turned upside down and she’s confused but taking it all in stride and adapting. ENERGY LEVEL: Low. She’ll need a leash for walks just to keep her moving. If you’re at home or somewhere safe and want a slow stroll she’ll stay close unless she’s sniffing something and you kept walking. GOOD WITH DOGS, CATS, KID (over 6) Yes. She interacts well with dogs of all sizes. She doesn’t chase cats or pay much attention to them. She’s friendly with kids but doesn’t understand playing. She stays away from horses and doesn’t chase chickens. NOT GOOD WITH: Haven’t found anything yet but haven’t tried trimming her nails either so we’ll see. HOUSETRAINED? Yes. Her crate has been clean and dry 100% of the time. CRATE TRAINED? Yes. She will whine if she wants out but will settle quickly. She will bark for a bit when her humans leave the house, but again she settles quickly. REQUIRES A FENCED YARD (physical fence and/or invisible fence) No. She doesn’t run off (doesn’t really run at all) and comes when called. She might not come quickly, but she’ll meander her way towards you. WALKS ON A LEASH? Yes. No pulling and keeps moving with a little encouragement. CHALLENGES: She’s set in her ways and feels that it’s the human’s job to figure out what she needs with zero input or clues from her. She will let you know when you have it wrong. The side-eye is strong with this one. ANY MEDICAL ISSUES? Gypsy has a 3 out of 5 heart murmur on her left side. Due to her stature and a swayed back she has some compression in her lower spine. It does not affect her movement, but she would benefit from some adjustments by a qualified animal chiropractor. WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST KIND OF HOME? Gypsy likes being around people and would love to have someone home with her. She has not shown any signs of separation anxiety but she’s very happy when her human returns. She does great with other dogs in the house and gives no indications that she needs to be an only dog. She’s fine with children old enough to understand the adage “let sleeping dogs lie”. Application Fees, Adoption Donations and Rescue Policy: Please know that 100% of our fees and donations pay for the costs of rescuing dogs. These include but are not limited to pull fees from shelters, veterinary examinations, vaccinations, medications and care, microchips, neuter/spay surgeries, heartworm treatments, behavior evaluations, and foster care, as needed. Important notes before applying. Adopters must have their primary residence in one of the following states: Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, and parts of North Carolina. We will not adopt giant breed dogs to renters. Homes with children under 6 years of age will not be approved for adoption. Homes with children should have a fenced yard. Pets currently in the applicant's home must have a history of appropriate veterinary care. Homes with intact dogs will not be approved for adoption.  Proof of any of the following exceptions is required: The intact dog is a working member of a law enforcement, or search and rescue/recovery team. The intact dog is registered under the auspices of the American Kennel Club and is actively being shown. A veterinarian has determined the sterilization procedure would harm the intact dog.  We believe in Force Free Training Methods and do not approve of methods or devices using pain or force to control the dog, or to deter undesirable behavior.  Homes with highly varnished steps must have carpeting, securely fixed stair treads, or a non-skid surface. **We encourage you to remediate potential safety issues while your application is under review, prior to the home visit.
