Story
Meet Nutmeg!Location: Brook Park, OHDOB: 5/16/24Nutmeg is a sweet, happy-go-lucky girl whose favorite thing in the world is being with her people. She absolutely loves giving kisses and will happily lounge at your feet, soaking up all the attention she can get.Nutmeg is housebroken, crate trained, and does very well in a crate. She's also a great passenger once she's in the car, though getting her into a vehicle can take a little encouragement. She enjoys going for walks, but she's not an especially high-energy dog—one walk a day is plenty for this laid-back girl. She is not yet leash trained and is currently working through treatment for a gunshot wound to her leg, which may affect her comfort and activity level.Humans are definitely Nutmeg's favorite. She has never met a stranger and loves everyone she encounters. While she can live with other dogs, she's somewhat selective about her canine companions and may be more tolerant when she's feeling comfortable and pain-free. She currently lives with a much larger female Great Dane and does well, and she has also met a larger male Great Dane successfully. She would likely thrive as either an only dog or in a home with a compatible canine companion. One quirky thing about Nutmeg: she's a toy thief! She loves collecting toys and can be protective of them, so a home that manages toys carefully and provides separate toys for multiple dogs would be ideal.Nutmeg has not yet been tested with children or cats.Nutmeg is currently heartworm positive and undergoing treatment, and she is also receiving care for the gunshot wound she sustained to her leg. Despite these challenges, she remains a loving, affectionate girl who is ready to shower her future family with endless love and companionship. If you're looking for a devoted best friend who wants nothing more than to be loved and return that love tenfold, Nutmeg may be the perfect match for you.===============================================================================To apply to adopt me, please fill out the application form! https://form.jotform.com/51994996709176 .Note: SRGDRR adopts nationwide and offers transport options to help you find your perfect match! Story
Meet Ruby 💕Location: Lexington, NCDOB: 6/8/17Ruby is a sweet, gentle soul who has been given a second chance at life, and she seems to appreciate every single day. This mature lady is happiest with the simple things—a cozy bed, a predictable routine, good air conditioning, a fan, and meals served on time (don't worry, she'll happily remind you when it's dinner time!).Ruby is a true couch potato. She's perfectly content lounging around the house and spending time in the backyard rather than going on long adventures. Although she has a slight limp in her back hip, it doesn't stop her from getting around or enjoying life. She simply takes her time, especially when climbing stairs. She is incredibly friendly and loves meeting new people. Ruby will greet you with a wagging tail, but she's definitely a princess—you'll need to come to her for pets and affection! She's also quite talkative and enjoys letting you know she's nearby, especially if treats are involved. Just be mindful when handing them over; she gets so excited that she may accidentally nip a finger.Ruby is housebroken and crate trained, although she spends about 98% of her time outside of the crate because she's such a well-behaved girl. She walks nicely on a leash, rides well in the car, and has wonderful manners around other dogs. She has lived comfortably with dogs of all sizes, from a 15-pound French Bulldog to Great Danes and another English Mastiff, both male and female. She has shown no issues with any of them. We don't yet know how she does with cats or young children. One thing Ruby does need is a calm, patient home. Loud voices can frighten her, so she'll thrive with someone who uses a gentle approach and understands that she deserves kindness and reassurance. Like any dog, occasional accidents may happen, but overall she's a wonderful companion who simply wants a peaceful place to call home.Ruby also came into rescue with skin allergies affecting her feet, likely from her previous home, but they have improved tremendously with proper care.If you're looking for a loyal, low-key companion who will happily share your couch, keep you company, and remind you when it's time for dinner, Ruby may be the perfect match. All she's asking for is a patient family, a soft place to stretch out, plenty of love, and the comfort she's always deserved.===============================================================================To apply to adopt me, please fill out the application form! https://form.jotform.com/51994996709176 .Note: SRGDRR adopts nationwide and offers transport options to help you find your perfect match!
