King is a 7-year-old, 15-pound Dachshund who’s just beginning to show us who he is—and so far, we’re really liking what we see. He’s been friendly with both people and other dogs, and he’s done well in playgroups, making him a great candidate for a home with canine companions. As we continue getting to know King, he’s proving to be an easygoing, pleasant little guy who enjoys social time without needing to be the center of attention. He seems comfortable around new friends and is settling in nicely, showing signs that he’ll be a loyal and loving companion. King may be a bit of a “slow reveal,” but those often make the most rewarding pets. If you’re looking for a sweet, dog-friendly Dachshund and are open to letting a pup blossom at his own pace, King could be a wonderful addition to your home ------ Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog’s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly.
