After experiencing a major life change, Patches has found himself adjusting to life at the Refuge. While change can be hard, this affectionate little guy is showing us what a loving companion he can be. We also believe that Patches is housetrained, which should help make his transition into a new home even smoother. We believe he will truly flourish once he is settled again in a calm, caring home of his own. Patches is currently carrying a few extra pounds and would love to find someone who enjoys healthy living and daily walks. He’s ready to trade snacks for strolls and would happily join you on a wellness journey filled with love, patience, and encouragement. Stitch is an adorable boy with a one-of-a-kind face that is impossible not to love. We think he may be a Dachshund/Pug mix, and his charming underbite gives him an extra-special look. This sweet guy came to WAG after experiencing a major change in his life. He is still adjusting to all the newness of Refuge living. We believe Stitch is housetrained and that once he settles into a home environment again, his personality will truly shine. Stitch is currently carrying a few extra pounds and would love to find a family committed to healthy living, daily walks, and helping him feel his best. He’s looking for a fresh start with someone who will enjoy taking this journey right alongside him. Available in TX only! King is a one year old Basset Hound/Lab mix with a gentle soul and a laid back nature. He is still gaining confidence and can be scared of new things, especially loud noises, but once he feels safe he settles in nicely. When he gets excited he can be a little jumpy, though most of the time he is calm and easygoing. King truly enjoys running around the yard, going on walks, and soaking up outdoor time. He has a playful side and loves playing fetch with frisbees and balls. Tug of war is another favorite game, and he is a big fan of chew time. Knuckle bones, hard chew toys for power chewers, and anything he can safely gnaw on make him very happy. King is crate trained and house trained, which makes him an easy addition to a home. King does have a prey drive and enjoys chasing squirrels and frogs, and he will chase cats, so a cat free home is recommended. He also has a sensitive stomach and does best on sensitive stomach dog food, as treats like milk bones do not agree with him. King would thrive in a patient, understanding home that will give him time to build confidence and continue showing him the world is a safe place.
