Story
**ALL ADOPTIONS INCLUDE A HOME VISIT, YOU MUST LIVE NEAR BROWARD & PALM BEACH COUNTIES** Introducing SheRa Princess of Power! She is a gentle soul in need of a patient and loving forever home to enable her to grow into her name. This shy beauty may take some time to warm up to you, but once she does, she'll melt your heart with her sweet nature and tender kisses. Treats are the key to her heart, and with a little bit of time and understanding, she'll come to trust you completely. SheRa is only 3 yers old and 13 pounds. SheRa's journey has had her challenges, but she's made remarkable progress in her foster home. While she may occasionally experience fear-based hiding, with a secure and nurturing environment, she'll learn to feel safe and secure and will socialize more.  Walking on a leash is still a work in progress for SheRa, but in the familiar surroundings of her foster home, she happily strolls alongside her foster pals. With time, patience, and positive reinforcement, she can overcome her leash anxiety and explore the world with confidence. SheRa thrives in a fenced yard where she can embrace her playful side and have zoomies to her heart's content. She adores the company of other small, playful dogs who bring out her inner joy and cuddle buddy nature. A furry companion will not only provide her with endless entertainment but also help her gain confidence around humans. She will be fine as an only dog and a compassionate person. It's important to note that SheRa's affection is best experienced when you're sitting down, as standing over her can trigger stress. Understanding this, and approaching her with gentleness and respect, will create a safe space where she can flourish. As a result, she may not be suitable for households with children under 13, as their fast movements and loud voices can overwhelm her. At present, SheRa may view humans with caution, but our dedicated team is diligently working to rehabilitate her and show her the compassionate and safe side of people. We are actively seeking a foster-to-adopt home in Palm Beach or Broward County, where she can receive continued support and guidance to help her blossom into the confident and loving companion she's meant to be. If you're a patient and understanding individual or family willing to invest time and love into SheRa's journey, you'll be rewarded with the immense joy of witnessing her transformation. Together, we can help SheRa discover that the world can be a beautiful and loving place.  This dog's adoption fee is $350 to go towards their vetting (vaccines, spay/neuter, heartworm/Ehrlichia/Lyme test, fecal test, pre-op blood work, dental cleaning, and microchip as well as grooming if needed). If you are interested please fill out the adoption application For additional information regarding our adoption process, please check our FAQ's Page.   *All dogs in the care of Get a Life Pet Rescue live in loving foster homes while waiting for their perfect match. They don't live in cages or crates (unless there is a medical reason to do so.) They are treated as family pets while in our care. * All dogs in our care are fed premium brand holistic food as well as supplements and vitamins specific to each dog's needs. We don't buy inexpensive bulk dry kibble, our rescues are fed premium wet food diets as part of a comprehensive rehabilitation program to ensure maximum health.*All of our rescues receive complete quality vetting including full dental cleaning with pre-op bloodwork, spay/neuter, vaccines, and grooming. Dogs in need of specialized medicine will be seen by specialists, such as full cardiac workups, ophthalmologist visits, all suspicious lumps, and bumps are biopsied, and every medical need is transparent to potential adopters. *Once you adopt from Get a Life Pet Rescue, you become part of our compassionate family and we are here for you if a problem with your precious dog arises. ##1774644##

Story
Professor is a very sweet, friendly and distinguished 13-year-old gentleman. He loves soft beds, long naps and massages. Once bonded, he will stick to you like glue. He is housebroken as long as he is walked and let out often. He gets along very well with dogs of all sizes as long as they are calm. He also gets along with cats, ducks, lizards, squirrels and birds. He just does not have a mean bone in his adorable little body. He is a perfect little couch potato companion. Professor has some manageable medical conditions and would be happiest in a calm adult-only home. For more information about Professor or any other amazing dogs available for adoption, please email: paula@floridahumanesociety.org.Shelter hours are Thursday to Sunday, 12 to 4 p.m. Our canines are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots and microchipped. All adopters should live in Broward or Palm Beach counties. Free training is included with all dog adoptions.
