Story
My name is Bean, and I’m a snuggly 4-year-old Miniature Pinscher boy who weighs 15 lbs. If you are looking for a sweet boy who loves to lie by your side, gaze lovingly into your eyes, follow you around, and melt your heart . . . look no further! I am your guy! I may not have come from the best circumstances, but I am a resilient fella who is ready, willing and able to find my forever home! I can be shy at times but am also a certified “wiggle-butt”.
Favorite Things: Bean is a goofy boy who loves to flop around on his back and flip upside down on his people. He is also a big fan of being carried around and likes to be held like a baby. He likes to give kisses too. His opinion on toys is “Meh, can live without them”. It’s his people that he loves the most.
Training & Manners: Bean has good basic manners and walks nicely on a leash. He does his “business” outside with prompting and positive reinforcement and he will need to be kept on a regular and consistent schedule for potty breaks. Bean can be leery of men initially but will warm up quickly with love. The person who shows him the most love will benefit from his “protection”. In his current foster home, he throws himself over his foster when the resident cat attempts to sit near them.
Health & Care: Bean is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, neutered, and recently had a dental cleaning. Bean had a broken leg in his past, but it has healed and he can run, walk and play like any other dog. He just tires easily and doesn’t care for long walks. Like any dog, he will require his monthly flea and heartworm prevention. He is a low maintenance fella with short hair, so occasional baths and nail trims will be all Bean needs to look and feel his best.
Other Animals: Bean has experience with other small, playful dogs and would be great with other like-size furry friends (dogs or cats) in his forever home to play with. He could also be your “one and only”.
Children: Bean would do best in a home with respectful children over the age of 8. Too many kids at one time can be overwhelming to him (he will go chill under the table or under a bed until things calm down). He would also thrive in an adult-only home where his people are home more often than not.
Ideal Home: Bean would do best in a single-family home without stairs. He can be vocal when left alone, so shared walls would not be ideal. He would also love it if his people were home more often than not. And this fella is an early bird who likes to get his day started! When home alone, he has free rein of the house. After a day of play, he will happily snuggle up next to you in the “people bed”.
Overall: Bean is a clever, curious boy who is looking to find the perfect home to land. Could that be you? If so, please visit www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org to fill out an adoption application and our team will be in touch. His adoption donation is $350.
