Story
Meet Gherkin, a 2-year-old Miniature Pinscher mix who weighs 14 pounds! Just like his pickle-inspired name, this little guy is full of personality. He’s energetic, fun, playful, and always ready to cuddle once he’s had his zoomies. Gherkin seems to do well with dogs his size or smaller, but he’s not a fan of big dogs. He’s also quite the vocal boy, so he’ll need a home without shared walls. Apartments, townhomes, and other attached housing won’t be the right fit for him. If you’re looking for a small companion with a big, lively personality, Gherkin is ready to add some zest to your life! His minimum adoption fee is $300 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
Dill is an 8-year-old Miniature Pinscher mix who weighs 9.5 pounds, and this tiny guy brings big personality once he feels safe and settled. He’s a reserved, slow-to-warm-up pup, but give him a little time and patience and he’ll happily snuggle right into your lap. Dill is house trained and enjoys hanging out in the house, zooming around indoors, and taking brief walks when it's not cold out. He can be a bit of a grump when crated, and he does much better in an ex-pen, where he relaxes, rests, and feels more like himself. That’s also where his hidden talent shines—he can stand straight up on his hind legs like a little meerkat, balancing with perfect confidence! He does best with small dogs and is currently warming up to a big female dog, a medium male, and a small male in his foster home. He may growl at dogs at first but improves as he gets to know them. Cats, however, are not on his list of friends—he will bark at them with great enthusiasm. He hasn’t been around children, and an adult-only home is recommended. A quiet home with few visitors and an experienced adopter who understands small-dog personalities would be ideal for this little guy. Dill will thrive with someone who respects his boundaries, offers calm structure, and appreciates the big heart behind his tiny frame. Once he trusts you, he’s a total cuddlebug—just waiting for his person to help him feel safe, understood, and loved. His minimum adoption fee is $200 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
Meet Thistle.  She is a 3 year old Miniature Pincer mix who weighs 17 lbs.  Thistle is a gentle, shy soul who is still learning that the world can be a safe and loving place. She’s making steady progress with her house-training and is already a pro in her crate, where she feels secure and comfortable.   This sweet girl is reserved and timid at first, often fearful and cautious until she learns to trust. But once she feels safe, Thistle blossoms into a devoted companion who wants nothing more than to be close to her person—she’ll even snuggle under the covers at night. Thistle will thrive in a quiet, adult-only home with few visitors. Because of her fearfulness and potential as a flight risk, a secure fenced yard is required. She coexists peacefully with other dogs but prefers to be the only dog in the home, as she can be protective of her special person. Her foster mom describes her as a dog who “wants desperately to trust” and believes that with patience, Thistle will become the “super dog she is meant to be.” Her adoption fee is $300  plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. To be considered for adoption, you must first submit the application found at:   http://fs16.formsite.com/WishBoneCanineRescue/adoptionapplication/index.html For information about this dog's breed(s), visit: http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/abc.htm  Wish Bone Canine Rescue  1303 Morrissey Drive Bloomington, IL 61701 www.wishbonecaninerescue.org           Since its our desire that you have a pet you can enjoy a lifetime of love with you, we take special measures to ensure that the pet is the best match for you and your family.  We require that you complete our online www.wishbonecaninerescue.org (Please give us 24 hours to verify your information).
