Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. PREACH was saved from a kill shelter in Georgia and arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 5 April 2024.  PREACH is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and is microchipped with 24PetWatch. He has an estimated date of birth of 14 November 2023 and in April 2024 weighed of 16 pounds. We have no way of knowing the breed, it is up to individuals to look at the pictures and videos to make up their own mind. PREACH is a fun boy who is full of life and energy. He shares a kennel with some pups a little younger than him and some his own age. He is always starting the play with them and loves to chase and wrestle with the other pups. He is confident, but loves to snuggle and give kisses. Although a smaller dog, he does need an active lifestyle so he can burn off all his energy and would benefit from other dog friends to play and wrestle with. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue    YouTube channel   and  photo albums on our Facebook page   to see a LOT of pictures and videos. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. PREACH is located at the rescue in Sebec Maine and is available for a  reduced adoption  fee of $550. Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application. https://giveadogahome-rescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=5838 HOUSE TRAINED - All of our dogs are located in the kennel building so we are not able to say if a dog is house-trained, however, they do have access and use the dog door to access their run, play area 24/7. FOOD - We feed a variety of high quality brands and flavors including, chicken, turkey, beef, lamb and fish generally alternated daily. CATS - We do not have cats in the kennels and are not able to say how our dogs are with cats. Story
We rescued Leo as a puppy from a horrible abuse situation about 9 years ago, despite that he is very friendly and loving. Leo will need a home without cats and preferably an owner that is not away for majority of the day. He is not potty trained but will use pee pads. He is very good with children, and gets along fine with dogs at the veterinarian. No other dogs currently in our house so unsure how he does with them in a home setting. He is calm and easygoing except when he gets the zoomies. He likes short walks and sleeping in his bed, rather than playing for long periods outside. He does not have any chronic illnesses
