Story
Vinny is a puppy searching for real love. He can be a little shy at first, but once he feels safe, he turns into an affectionate, bug-eyed shadow who wants to be your best friend in everything you do.   He is crate trained, though like any puppy, he may have a few accidents while settling into a new environment. Vinny loves other dogs and would thrive in a home where dogs are truly part of the family. A confident, friendly older dog would be a big plus, and he would absolutely enjoy puppy classes to continue building confidence and social skills.   Vinny’s rescue story: He is the sole survivor of a severely neglected litter. Despite repeated outreach, the owners refused to spay the mother or properly care for the puppies. Vinny was the only pup they ultimately agreed to surrender. As a result of the neglect, he developed mange, but he has since fully recovered and is now healthy and ready to move forward.   Vinny has already overcome more than any puppy should have to. Now he is just looking for a home where he can feel safe, loved, and truly belong.   This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is neutered. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. If this is the case, your adoption coordinator will provide guidance on the process.) To adopt or learn more about this dog, you must complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com. PLEASE READ:  •    If a dog or puppy is listed, they are currently available for adoption. However, they may already be pending an adoption, and their profile may not yet reflect this.  •    All information is accurate to the best of our knowledge as of the posting date.    •    Unless explicitly stated, Sandy Paws Rescue does not guarantee the breed of any dog. Breeds listed are educated guesses made by shelter staff, volunteers, or veterinarians. Many of our dogs are mixed breeds, often with pit bull-type genetics, resulting in a wide variety of physical traits and temperaments. Our dogs come from various situations, such as kill shelters, owner surrenders, or as strays. It is likely both parents were mixed breeds as well. Sandy Paws Rescue does not have a public shelter in Massachusetts. Our dogs reside in private foster homes or boarding kennels in the South until adopted. Many dogs are spoken for prior to transport or release from state-mandated isolation. For information on adoption fees, procedures, or FAQs, visit our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com. The FIRST step in adopting from Sandy Paws Rescue is to submit a completed adoption application. Sandy Paws Rescue’s MA license number # 0272 ##2605150##

Story
💖🐾 Meet Belle — The Couch Princess With a Heart of Gold (and Fewer Teeth to Brush)! 🐾💖 If perfection came with a wagging tail and a love of naps, it would look a lot like Belle. This 11-year-old, 22-pound bundle of sweetness is what happens when you combine “gentle grandma energy” with a sprinkle of sass and a strong commitment to couch time. Belle doesn’t bark (because she’s way too classy for that nonsense), gets along beautifully with dogs, and is assumed to love humans too — because, really, how could she not? Her foster mom says she’s so wonderful she’d keep her herself if the timing were right. That’s high praise from a seasoned pro! She’s mostly housebroken but, fair warning, she’s not a fan of marathon wait times when nature calls — 10+ hours is asking a bit much for any lady her age. Belle’s favorite hobbies include: 🛋️ Lounging on couches and cozy beds (preferably both). 🐕 Supervising household activities from a soft, elevated surface. 💋 Melting hearts with her gentle charm. She’s recovering beautifully after having 17 teeth removed — and though her snout’s a little puffy, her spirit’s as bright as ever. She may be a senior, but she’s still got some pep in her paws and plenty of love left to give. Belle recently went on a little field trip with a professional dog walker, and—no surprise here—she was a total sweetheart! 🩷 She handled the new environment like a pro. While she was a bit unsure at first (hey, new places can be weird!), she stayed calm and friendly around other dogs and clearly enjoyed her time exploring the trails. Belle’s walking style? Let’s call it enthusiastically forward-focused. She likes to keep things moving but still takes time to stop for the occasional sniff—because priorities. And when her walker crouched down to give her pets, Belle immediately climbed into her lap for snuggles. In short: she’s gentle, affectionate, and a total doll who’s happiest when she’s close to her people. 🐾💕 Adopt Belle, and you’ll never binge-watch alone again — she’s the perfect partner for lazy Sundays, quiet evenings, and a lifetime of love. ❤️ If you are interested in finding out more about Belle, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO/Dog Belle is being fostered in Winthrop, MA. The adoption fee is $400. Like Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook!. Follow Broken Tail Rescue on Instagram! Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
