Story
Buddy is a 3/4 year old neutered male, approximately 15 pounds and slightly overweight. He is up to date on vaccinations, leash trained, crate trained, and generally housebroken. Buddy does well with most other dogs and cats and enjoys attention, though he can become jealous. He can be feisty and nervous and thrives in a calm, structured home with time, patience, and affection. For safety and transparency, Buddy has shown fear-based reactions toward guests and has snapped at strangers, though he has never shown aggression toward members of our household. When new guests are present, we crate him to prevent snapping but he has also bitten friends/ repeat guests that he previously had cuddled with. Our priority is finding Buddy a calm, experienced, adult-only home where he can thrive without the stressors he is currently experiencing. Dog Name: Waffles Breed: MinPin mix Sex: Female Age: 8yrs (estimated) Weight: 15 lbs Medical Needs: Spay appt is scheduled for 2/3/26 at Humane Animal Partners in Wilmington. Keeping this appt is a condition of adoption and foster to adopt families must live within 1 hour of surgery location to ensure there won’t be any issues getting her to and from the appointment. Housebroken: Yes. She gives you the eye when she needs to go out and do not make the royal highness wait or she will voice her displeasure. Crate trained: Yes. She will go into the crate for a treat and will sing the song of her people for a little bit especially if she knows you are in the house but eventually quiets down for 10minutes. She despises the crate no matter how comfy or how big it is she will sing. Good in the car: Yes, she enjoys going for rides. She prefers to be in the front passenger seat and does not move much once there provided you create a suitable throne made of fluffy blankets. Good on a leash: She’s good on a leash but will let you know that it is beneath her royal standards. Energy level: Low Need a fenced in yard: Not necessarily but she would appreciate it as she likes going out to sit in the sun and patrolling the perimeter of her kingdom. Dog Friendly: Yes. Currently resides with 3 Great Danes and a Doberman. And yes they are her loyal subjects. If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes? Nope, she is fine being by herself. Cat Friendly? Unknown Kid Friendly: I would not place her in a home with kids younger than teens. She is a small princess who just wants to chill with her person. If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? Teens or older. If you are looking for a lazy loyal dictator, I mean Princess look no farther. Princess Waffles is no spring chicken so low energy is how I would describe her. She will follow you where ever you go and when she’s tired of following you she will find a fuzzy blanket to burrow under for a nap and that’s where she will spend most of her time. She will get spurts of energy when she’s excited but that doesn’t last long. Excellent recall not that she goes far from you. There is no doubt of her min pin heritage from her markings to her need to burrow under blankets. She is overweight so she we monitor her food and treat intake. She will give you the sad eyes and low grumbles like you are starving her so Stay strong and Don’t give in!!! She needs to get to a healthy weight and no longer mimic the look of a football. Waffles is a perfect house mate provided you acknowledge her as a Royal Princess. Meet Rocky – A Brave Little Soul Looking for His Miracle Home Rocky is a little Min Pin with a big spirit and an even bigger heart. He’s around 5 years old, and though life hasn’t always been easy, he’s faced every challenge with courage and love. When his beloved owner went into the hospital, Rocky’s world was turned upside down. His family did everything they could to care for him and manage his diabetes, but it became too difficult. That’s when we stepped in — and promised Rocky he’d never have to struggle alone again. With medication and lots of love, his diabetes is now under control (but he will need an adopter committed to keeping him on his medication). Thanks to his amazing foster, Rocky has rediscovered joy — chasing toys, snuggling under the blankets, and greeting visitors with his big, bold personality. He’s playful, smart, and full of life — but also tender and deeply connected to his people. At bedtime, he curls up close, often nudging under the covers just to be near you. Rocky isn’t perfect — he’s still learning his potty routine, can be protective of his food, and doesn’t love his insulin needles. But he’s trying so hard, and every day he trusts a little more. He just needs someone patient, kind, and willing to give him the stability he’s never truly had. A few notes about Rocky: Dog friendly (he enjoys canine friends!) Cats not recommended Crate trained: not yet, but learning Potty training: in progress (uses pads too!)
