Story
Sweet Pete—lovingly called Sweets—will be 3 years old in March, and he’s quietly hoping his next home will be the one where he finally feels safe enough to exhale. This 12-pound, neutered, crate-trained little guy came to CCR not because he isn’t loved, but because he needs more security, consistency, and reassurance than he’s had before. What he wants most is a calm, stable home and a person who will be his. Once Sweet Pete trusts you, he gives his whole heart. He lives for cuddles, snuggling close, and simply being near his person after a good round of outdoor play. He enjoys exercise and then happily settles in, content just to hang out and be loved. He’s also a wonderful travel companion—great on short trips and long rides alike—and never turns down a pup cup along the way. Sweet Pete will alert bark at unfamiliar noises or strangers, but he isn’t a constant yapper. He walks nicely on a leash and would benefit from continued work on recall. He’s spent lots of time at doggy daycare and enjoys playful interactions with dogs his own size. He hasn’t been around cats yet, so a cat-free home or careful introductions would be best. Because of his past, Sweet Pete can be anxious around men and small children, and those situations can feel overwhelming for him. He would truly thrive in a quieter, adult-only home—ideally with someone who is home often—where patience, routine, and kindness help him continue to build confidence. When he feels safe and happy, his joy bursts out in the form of full-speed zoomies and impressive jumps that show off his athletic little body and happy heart. Sweet Pete is up to date on vaccinations and ready for a fresh start. He’s not asking for much—just a gentle, understanding home where love is steady and trust can grow. In return, he’ll offer deep devotion, endless affection, and the kind of bond that makes all the waiting worth it.  Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue is you are interested.  Let us know where you live!  We are in Tennessee but we adopt outside the state as well and transport.   Contact us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comDecember 20, 2025, 12:12 am

Story
Have had this lovely, kind, loyal, and playful dog for over a year. Love her to pieces, however she is a chewer. Loves to chew on dog beds, furniture, and just about anything. My grandfather passed away a little over a year ago, and my mom cherishes anything of his that was left behind, including the living room couches that have been chewed up by this doggo of mine. Mother gave this dog 2 chances, and this was the third strike. Besides the chewing, digging holes in the dirt, and excited jumping on people’s legs (her nails kinda hurt), I dont see a single flaw on her. She’s the sweetest, and want a sweet, kind, loving family for her. Thanks

Story
Hi, I’m Rebecca! I’m a very sweet, small pup with a gentle and loving personality. I may be little, but my heart is big, and I really enjoy being around people who give me kindness and affection. I’m still young and learning about the world, and I’m happy to take things one step at a time with a family who will help me grow and feel safe. I’d love a home where I can cuddle, play, and be someone’s special girl. If I have a committed adopter and/or foster, I can be transported to Petco in Huntersville to meet my future family on January 15th, 2026. If you’d like more information about me or want to talk about fostering or adopting, please reach out to my team: Email: NCteam@austinpetsalive.org Call: (704) 266-3647 I’m small, sweet, and ready for a big new chapter, maybe with you!
