Story
Specky is selected as a candidate for our "Friendship Rescue Pull: 10th Ride Home" Event to celebrate our 10th freedom transport with our friends in South Carolina along with a one year partnership. Our transport starts April 12 and we'll be back in Ohio on the 14th. If we can find him a home, we will be able to bring him back with us otherwise, it will be the end of the road for Specky. Please help us find a forever home. Share this finding. Adopters are encouraged to join us on this trip or can make the trip themselves prior. It is not required to transport as we will bring him back to you regardless. ORIGINAL: About Group: We are a foster-based organization located in Willoughby, OH who focuses on pulling animals pending euthanization all over the US including Ohio. If you are seeing this kind of post, it is because this dog is running out of time and we are seeking to save this life. However, we can't do it without a safe home. This dog is currently at a pound in South Carolina, North Augusta. They only have 17 runs and dogs have about 1 month upon arrival before being put down. This pound is VERY low traffic and located at the city waste collection site where public traffic does not travel through. "North Augusta Animal Control" 61 Claypit Road North Augusta, SC 29841 About Dog Specky is a friendly pooch who is dog friendly. He weighs about 37 pounds. Vaccinated but not neutered. Specky has been skittish since arriving at the pound because he's scared. No aggression noted. How We Operate: We have been working with FONAA - Friends of North Augusta and Bully4You Rescue to pull dogs in SC for over 10 months. Since that time, we have established a method and trust. Toni from Bully4You helps network these dogs to get them exposure, gives them initial boosters, and tries to learn a bit about them. Stephanie and other staff at FONAA, get them to veterinarian clinics, finish off vaccines, and have volunteers take them for adventures when able. It is a full hands on team to save lives. We have helped the North Augusta Pound remain no kill for the past 8 months. When you place an adoption application, we begin the review process. Once ready, we will be either waiting until another foster or adopter to step up for a second dog or be planning transport within the next week or two. Transport is handle either by volunteers completing legs or the Director will make the trip herself on a weekend. On occasions, approved adopters may be able to go get their new companion themselves under the Coming Back Home Rescue name. They will NOT let you retrieve the animal privately and/or without an application through us or through another rescue. Offering to help transport your new pet is extremely helpful to ease on expenses and provide more room for additional transport if needed. Please understand that your trip will not always go perfect. Bring extra blankets, Leashes, bowls and a cage if it fits. We do not cover toll costs** Otherwise, we can drop-off your pet either that night or in the next few days. We have had drop offs at 2am, so be prepared. How You Can Help: Offer to assist with transport if volunteer legs are being used. They're typically 1 - 2 hour rides Make a pledge through Bully4You to donate when the dog is pulled, or donate to Coming Back Home Rescue. Share and spread word about the listed animal. IMPORTANT: Please understand we try to keep these updates frequently, multiple times a day even. However, these dogs can be adopted locally or rescued by another organization at any point **Adoption fees decrease with sponsorships or as adopters cover medical costs. For an example, if you paid for their sterilization, we would just take it off the fee or until waived.
