These poor puppies were living outside and arrived covered in fleas and battling intestinal worms. Despite their rough start, Bubbles is ready to leave that chapter behind and find her happy-ever-after! Bubbles is expected to stay on the smaller side and has more of that sweet, easygoing personality, and a lap girl. She loves attention, playing, giving kisses, and being close to her people. She’s still a puppy, so her new family should be prepared to continue working on training, manners, and all the important lessons that come with growing up. Bubbles is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and current on flea, heartworm, and tick prevention. Her adoption fee is $350. Bubbles is currently in Texas but can travel to Washington, Portland, Oregon, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington, Kentucky, and along the East Coast. If transportation is needed, there is an additional $250 transport fee. Unfortunately, due to state regulations, Bubbles cannot travel to Rhode Island or Massachusetts. This is String Bean, our vet figured she was maybe 13yr old when we took her in last year. She does still look “thick” but she was twice this size when I found her on the side of the road a year ago. She is talkative but listens to my 15yr old daughter when she tells her to stop. She knows “Sit”. She is like a cat with cuddling. It’s on her terms and when she wants to - she Wants to!! She is completely content sitting on your lap all day long. She would do great with an older family. She is “puppy pad” trained. She will go outside but doesn’t always make it so we have reusable pads in the house. She is very good with only going on those if she needs to. She is great with cats and our male dog. She and our small female dog don’t see eye to eye. That is our other dog’s fault. She is basically blind but can still hear. Her sense of smell is going.

I was found as a stray in the East Liverpool area and nobody came forward to claim me, so I am now looking for a loving new family to join. I am a very sweet and loving little girl. I am currently in a foster home with other dogs and cats and I do excellent with all of them. I am a very good little dog. I am very quiet and content to just sit on your lap or cuddle up next to you on the couch. I appear to be both housebroken and crate trained. If you're looking for a great little dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Our adoption fee is $152. We accept cash, check or credit/ debit cards for adoption fees. If you pay using a credit or debit card, a convenience fee of 2.39% will also be applied. If paying by check, you will need 2. One Check will be for the dog license, and one will be for your dog's adoption fee, which includes heartworm testing (for dogs 6 months of age old and older), parvo/distemper vaccine, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, 3 days of panacur de-wormer, spay or neuter surgery, microchip, and a current Ohio dog license. We DO offer foster to adopt. (We will NOT accept cash for foster to adopt). We highly recommend you do a foster to adopt with your new dog if you are not 100% sure your new dog is going to work out in your home. Foster to adopt gives you a couple of weeks with the dog to make sure they are a good fit with your family before your payment is processed and the adoption is finalized. ALL DOGS/PUPPIES WILL BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED unless a health issue prohibits the surgery from being performed. Not all dogs posted for adoption are spayed/ neutered yet. If you're driving a long distance to adopt, please verify that the vetting process has been completed and dog you're interested in adopting is still available for adoption. The above mentioned vetting is all included in your adoption fee. The adoption fee and what is included in the adoption fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Adoptions MUST be done at the pound and in person as there is paperwork to fill out and an adoption contract that must be signed by the adopter. This means you must be willing to travel to our shelter to adopt. If the dog you're interested in adopting has medical conditions or injuries which require medical treatment, we ask that you help with the medical bills, in addition to their adoption fee if possible so we can continue to help the dogs coming in who need additional vet care. We are a county run shelter, therefore we cannot control our intake or the health or behavior of the dogs that come in to our shelter. Although we try our hardest to place all of our adoptable dogs, there are certain circumstances in which any dog in our care could be euthanized at any time and without further notice (IE: sudden untreatable medical condition or injury, temperament or behavioral problems which may not be apparent when the dog first arrives, etc.), therefore all dogs at our shelter should be considered urgent. We try our absolute hardest to never have to euthanize for space and have not had to do so for many years thanks to the ongoing support from the public and high adoption rates. Please remember; the adoption of a more highly adoptable dog will mean more time for the less adoptable dog in the kennel next to him! Shelter hours are Monday-Friday: 8 am- 4 pm. Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 8 am - 12 pm. Adoptions are always welcome any day of the week/ weekend and on holidays. We are here everyday to care for the dogs and the best way to make our day is to see our dogs go to loving families. There is nobody in the office on Saturday, Sunday or holidays, so therefore, we are unable to answer or return phone calls over the weekend. We are only staffed to take care of the dogs and do adoptions over the weekends/ on holidays. Can't adopt a dog? We would love to have more volunteers who are able to spend time with our dogs! The dogs LOVE going for walks and the socialization and exercise helps make the dogs more adoptable.
