Story
Sweet Pete—lovingly called Sweets—will be 3 years old in March, and he’s quietly hoping his next home will be the one where he finally feels safe enough to exhale. This 12-pound, neutered, crate-trained little guy came to CCR not because he isn’t loved, but because he needs more security, consistency, and reassurance than he’s had before. What he wants most is a calm, stable home and a person who will be his. Once Sweet Pete trusts you, he gives his whole heart. He lives for cuddles, snuggling close, and simply being near his person after a good round of outdoor play. He enjoys exercise and then happily settles in, content just to hang out and be loved. He’s also a wonderful travel companion—great on short trips and long rides alike—and never turns down a pup cup along the way. Sweet Pete will alert bark at unfamiliar noises or strangers, but he isn’t a constant yapper. He walks nicely on a leash and would benefit from continued work on recall. He’s spent lots of time at doggy daycare and enjoys playful interactions with dogs his own size. He hasn’t been around cats yet, so a cat-free home or careful introductions would be best. Because of his past, Sweet Pete can be anxious around men and small children, and those situations can feel overwhelming for him. He would truly thrive in a quieter, adult-only home—ideally with someone who is home often—where patience, routine, and kindness help him continue to build confidence. When he feels safe and happy, his joy bursts out in the form of full-speed zoomies and impressive jumps that show off his athletic little body and happy heart. Sweet Pete is up to date on vaccinations and ready for a fresh start. He’s not asking for much—just a gentle, understanding home where love is steady and trust can grow. In return, he’ll offer deep devotion, endless affection, and the kind of bond that makes all the waiting worth it.  Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue is you are interested.  Let us know where you live!  We are in Tennessee but we adopt outside the state as well and transport.   Contact us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comDecember 20, 2025, 12:12 am

Story
Let’s help Mila find a “Home for the Holidays” Please share and spread the word ♥ Mila’s story began behind the cold walls of a shelter, where fear had her shutting down and hope felt far away. But just in time, she was pulled into the arms of rescue — and in her foster home, her little light has started to shine again. Today, Mila is flourishing. She loves being part of a family… curling up beside her humans, soaking in belly rubs, and drifting off to sleep knowing she’s finally safe. She’s already house trained, crate trained, and wonderfully quiet — except for the adorable little howls she lets out at mealtime. Her tail, once tucked tightly, now wags with a softness that says she’s learning to trust the world again. She walks beautifully on leash, knows her basic commands, and melts for treats and affection. She adores the teens in her foster home, loves rolling in the grass, and can’t resist snuggling into a warm bed or cozy couch. At just about 35 pounds, she’s a petite girl with a huge heart. She’s still a bit unsure in the car, but she’s trying — and every ride ends with reassurance, love, and usually a tasty reward. She does well with other submissive, laid-back dogs but prefers to enjoy her meals on her own, especially with her puzzle feeder that keeps her happy and calm. Mila is searching for someone who will give her what she has always deserved: steady love, gentle hands, and a forever place to call home. She’s perfect for someone wanting a laid-back, deeply affectionate companion — a dog who simply wants to be treasured, and who will give that love right back tenfold. There’s something extra special about the way she yearns for safety, connection, and home. This holiday season, Mila is waiting in Reading (Berks County), Pennsylvania… hoping her next car ride is the one that takes her to her forever family. She is part of our “Meet Me Program” which means you can talk to her foster or meet Mila in person before applying. www.mostlymuttz.org Link to Mila’s bio: https://www.wagtopia.com/search/pet?id=2487924&name=Mila #mostlymuttzrescue #adoptabledogs #adoptme #homeforthepawlidays #promisetoloveyou ##2487924##

Story
Mandy is a total sweetheart — the perfect mix of playful and snuggly. She’s 3 years old, around 29 pounds, and full of charm. She’s got this adorable habit of sitting politely before every meal… though she’ll also bark to remind me if I’m taking too long to get it ready! Mandy loves hanging out with her foster brother, Hudson, and will happily chase toys or balls, but she’s just as content curling up on the couch with her people. She’s housebroken (she’ll bark at the door when she needs to go out) and does great in her crate. She has a nice, easy energy — happy to play, happy to relax — and she’ll melt your heart with her kisses and cuddles. Mandy’s just one of those dogs who makes every day a little bit sweeter.   Mostly Muttz Rescue, PO Box 406, Gilbertsville, PA 19525PA Kennel License 10872 ##2499669##
