Story
Marley, femaleAge: 2 years oldBreed: Terrier MixHello, everyone! My name is Marley, and I'm a young and spirited terrier mix eager to find my forever home. I've come a long way since being rescued after my original mom had to go into hospice, and I'm learning to embrace the world around me again. While I've formed an incredible bond with the friends I was rescued with Boomer and Monkey, I'm also discovering the joy of interacting with other dogs, so I'd prefer you had another furry friend for me as I have never known life without one. I'm full of energy and love to play and explore my surroundings. With each passing day, my confidence is growing, and I'm becoming more outgoing. If you're an active individual or family seeking a lively and enthusiastic companion, I'm the pup you've been searching for!

Despite all this he is great w humans. He is easily bathe and moved around w no signs of a aggression. His breed and age is unknown.

Story
Hi there! I'm Biscuit. I was originally rescued from a hoarding situation in Louisiana and grew very close to my savior. Unfortunately, my owner passed away and I have found myself seeking a new family to enjoy my senior years with. I am a little shy at first but my foster mom says I ask for affection in the cutest ways- leaning on her legs, burrowing under her when she is squatting, or pushing my snout under her hand. I am quiet, easy-going, nondestructive, and low energy. I enjoy short walks and remain calm when passing other people or pups. I might whimper for a couple of minutes but don't mind my crate much when my fosters are at work. I am house-trained, too! When I approach the back door, my foster mom takes me outside where I enjoy sniffing the yard. I have been in foster care with bigger dogs and with grumpier little dogs and do just fine respecting their boundaries. I'm even gentle with young children who love to hug me! If you're looking for a sweet, lovey-dovey, low maintenance pup, I'm your guy so apply today!

Aren’t I a handsome young man? I am small, about 8 lbs, but very busy and love to play with my toys. I am getting to know other dogs. I DON’T LIKE CATS! I play too rough for children. I am looking forward to being a part of a loving family. Can you find it in your heart to give me a home? I’m counting on you….

Story
Timmy and Joey were only about 3 months old when they wandered into a couple's garage. They were not wearing collars with ID tags and they were not microchipped. Apparently, they had been dumped in the neighborhood because their owners could not be found. Emmy's Hope Rescue took them in September 2021. Even though Timmy looks like a red Min Pin mix and Joey looks like a mini Heeler mix, they act like bonded brothers. For sure, they are best friends. They love to run, play chase with each other, wrestle and sleep together. They are sweet boys, who are full of energy! They are friendly with other dogs and cats too. We would really like for Timmy and Joey to be adopted together, if possible. We hope to find that special family, looking for two small, mid-size dogs.  Estimated birth date:  June 2021 Approximate weights:  Timmy -  18 lbs.     Joey - 22 lbs. If you would like to meet Timmy & Joey, please call or text Stephanie at: 281-622-6549. *** ADOPTION  CRITERIA *** To qualify to adopt from Emmy's Hope Rescue, YOU MUST HAVE ALL 4 QUALIFIERS: 1. Live in the Houston area (no more than an hour's drive away). 2. Be 21 years or older. 3. Have a fenced yard. Fencing must touch the ground all the way around the yard. 4. We are looking for experienced pet owners. You must  have at least 2-3 years of good vet history, with your current and / or past dogs. Your vet record should show that you take your dog(s) to the vet annually for an exam and to update their Rabies and DHPP (distemper, parvo) vaccinations and heartworm testing, and that you purchase a monthly heartworm preventative.                                                                                                                                                                                   babies came to Emmy's Hope Rescue in September, 2021.September 20, 2023, 6:14 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Must be adopted with his brother, Snickers Peanut is quite the handsome boy!   Very bonded to his litter mate, Snickers, and they MUST be adopted together.  He follows his foster mom everywhere.  When cuddling on the sofa, his paw must be touching her, making sure she is right there. He loves watching TV!! He sits in front of the tv mesmerizedif there are animals. (He's a huge fan of Heartland )  Peanut does have trust issues and will retreat when he meets new people.  He's shy and reserved to begin with, and needs time to feel comfortable.  We feel there was abuse in his previous adoptive home.  He is very selective with other dogs. Peanut was born at his foster mom's and was adopted out with his brother, Snickers.  They have been together since birth.  Unfortunately, a divorce tore their family of over a year apart.  He came back a bit insecure.  They are back with their original foster mom, loving it, being spoiled!  Peanut and Snickers MUST be adopted together so these lovable sweet boys don't have to deal with being torn apart from each other.   For 10 years they have been each other's comfort, strength and best friend. Please consider opening your heart and home to these incredible loving boys!  You won't be disappointed!   Please contact  info@aarfhouston.org for more information about this dog or to schedule a meet and greet. You can apply online by clicking on Application . Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet and greet at one of our adoption events. Thank you for considering a rescue!   The adoption fee includes vaccinations, Bordetella, de-worming, rabies, spay/neuter and microchip. There is a an additional $12.99 fee for Home Again for a lifetime registration of the microchip. Puppies cannot be adopted outside of the Houston area until they are spay/neutered after they are 4 months old. It is against the law in the State of Texas for a rescue not to be sterilized so we have to make sure it gets completed and that we have record of it. NOTE: In our bios, we provide information based on our volunteer's experience with a particular dog; such as temperament, training, and ability to get along with others. AARF is a 501(c)3 Non Profit, all breed, no kill organization. Our group is always in need of donations in order to continue to give the needed medical care to our rescues. Adoption fees do not begin to cover all of the medical costs. Any donation , no matter how small is a big help and is greatly appreciated. Please help us to continue to help them. Thank you. Story
Sabine is the calmest and sweetest puppy you will ever meet. But she is also super shy and needs a home where she has another young active puppy to follow and play with. She must not be rushed to be your companion. She should be allowed to be the companion of your dog first and then you can earn her trust. Please read on only if you are able to understand that she needs time and will need a very patient and quiet home. Sabine was brought in to a high kill shelter in Houston when she was only 8 weeks old, and stayed there for 2 months, fought parvo and survived the stress of being in that kind of atmosphere. She was rescued at 4 months of age. It took her 3 weeks to decompress, and start playing with her foster siblings Carly and Strider. After 5 weeks, they play all the time. And now at 6 weeks, she wagged her tail when her foster mom came back home from grocery and follows her around. She is an extremely sweet and submissive girl, who needs patience and compassion. She is still not housebroken as she is following no paws on ground until she gets all her vaccines. Sabine is very treat motivated, and can easily be won over with treats. And, like her foster mom who kept her in her study while she worked during the day, and took her to work with her, if you keep her close to you all the time, she will feel safe and she will start trusting you fully. Sabine is currently 25 lb, and growing, She is black and brindle in color. Her adoption fee includes all her age appropriate shots, spay surgery and microchip, and she is kept on heartworm and flea preventative and deworming schedule. It may or may not include transport fee, depending on the location. Sweet Sabine is being fostered in Texas, but can travel to any state. To meet this gorgeous pup via facetime or whatsapp or other video chat apps, please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com Yards, if any, MUST BE adequately and fully fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences.
