Story
**Calm, lazy and chill alert! ** Hello, my name is Wylie or Super Wylie! I am a shy miniature pinscher/dacshund mix weighing at about 20 lbs. My foster says I am a true couch potato/lap buddy. My favorite spot in the house is being bundled up right next to you. Before SOCA I was in the streets trying to survive. I have a big scar along my spine that tells a story. I just know that I am a sweet and quiet dog that was neglected from love and vet care. My hobby includes lounging around the house and maybe going on some walks. I am friendly with humans and other dogs. If you're looking for a laid back buddy, I am your dog!! I will do well with older/considerate kids and a calm, low activity family. I will do great for an older couple or in an apartment/town home. I'm just ready to chill and be your lap buddy.  My adoption fee is $250 locally in Houston, TX. I am up to date on shots, neutered and microchipped. I recently completed heartworm treatment and on my way to a healthier me. I am ready to fill you heart with love and cuddles!  Fill out an app at: https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=SQYPSGVQ  April 19, 2024, 10:42 am

If you would like more information about Bruno or are interested in adopting him, please send an email to emilyfucile95@gmail.com or contact this number, 832-474-1434 I found this adorable little guy wandering the streets without a collar. I have tried to locate his owner through various channels and a visit to the vet revealed no microchip. Bruno is likely a 2-3-year-old miniature pinscher mix, weighing around 10-15lbs, with no apparent health issues apart from minor skin flaking. Bruno also has an adorable little underbite so he may have a harder time chomping big treats, but he seems to love whimzies and sticks! Despite initial timidity, he's proven to be incredibly affectionate and playful, showing a fondness for people. I believe he would thrive in a permanent, loving home where he feels safe and cherished. Story
Hi there! I'm Biscuit. I was originally rescued from a hoarding situation in Louisiana and grew very close to my savior. Unfortunately, my owner passed away and I have found myself seeking a new family to enjoy my senior years with. I am a little shy at first but my foster mom says I ask for affection in the cutest ways- leaning on her legs, burrowing under her when she is squatting, or pushing my snout under her hand. I am quiet, easy-going, nondestructive, and low energy. I enjoy short walks and remain calm when passing other people or pups. I might whimper for a couple of minutes but don't mind my crate much when my fosters are at work. I am house-trained, too! When I approach the back door, my foster mom takes me outside where I enjoy sniffing the yard. I have been in foster care with bigger dogs and with grumpier little dogs and do just fine respecting their boundaries. I'm even gentle with young children who love to hug me! If you're looking for a sweet, lovey-dovey, low maintenance pup, I'm your guy so apply today!

Story
Timmy and Joey were only about 3 months old when they wandered into a couple's garage. They were not wearing collars with ID tags, and they were not microchipped. Apparently, they had been dumped in the neighborhood because their owners could not be found. Emmy's Hope Rescue took them in September 2021. Even though Timmy looks like a red Min Pin mix and Joey looks like a mini-Heeler mix, they act like bonded brothers. For sure, they are best friends. They love to run, play chase with each other, wrestle and sleep together. They are sweet boys, who are full of energy! They are friendly with other dogs and cats too. We would really like for Timmy and Joey to be adopted together, if possible. We hope to find that special family, looking for two small, mid-size dogs.  Estimated birth date:  June 2021 Approximate weights:  Timmy - 22 lbs.     Joey - 26 lbs. If you would like to meet Timmy & Joey, please call or text Stephanie at: 281-622-6549. *** ADOPTION CRITERIA *** To qualify to adopt from Emmy's Hope Rescue, YOU MUST HAVE ALL 4 QUALIFIERS: 1. Live in the Houston area (no more than an hour's drive away). 2. Be 21 years or older. 3. Have a fenced yard. Fencing must touch the ground all the way around the yard. 4. We are looking for experienced pet owners. You must have at least 3 years of good vet history, with your current and / or past dogs. Your vet record should show that you take your dog(s) to the vet annually for an exam and to update their Rabies and DHPP (distemper, parvo) vaccinations and heartworm testing, and that you purchase a monthly heartworm preventative.April 14, 2024, 5:43 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hello!  My name is CeeCee  I’m looking for my furever home. I’m such a sweetie. I was dumped and scared and didn’t know what happened to me. I am heartworm positive but the rescue is treating me.  I would love to have a home if my own. I’m less than 20 pounds and don’t take up much room. Fill out an app so I can meet you!!    =============== Please contact  app@aarfhouston.org for more information about this dog. You can apply online by clicking on Application . ADOPTION FEE:  The adoption fee includes vaccinations, bordetella, deworming, rabies, Microchip including a lifetime registration and spay/neuter.   PUPPIES   Texas State law requires that we sterilize any animal adopted through this agency.     This will normally occur between 5 and 6 months at one of our approved veterinarians at the expense of the rescue. Children under 8 years old  often are not a good match for our puppies and dogs.   In order to protect both, your child and our rescued dogs/puppies from harm, we seldom if ever adopt to families with young children. Approval:  You will be notified via email once your application is approved.  Once notified, we will schedule a meet and greet at one of our approved locations.   Thank you for considering a rescue! The adoption fee includes vaccinations, Bordetella, de-worming, rabies, spay/neuter and microchip. There is a an additional $12.99 fee for Home Again for a lifetime registration of the microchip. Puppies cannot be adopted outside of the Houston area until they are spay/neutered after they are 4 months old. It is against the law in the State of Texas for a rescue not to be sterilized so we have to make sure it gets completed and that we have record of it. NOTE: In our bios, we provide information based on our volunteer's experience with a particular dog; such as temperament, training, and ability to get along with others. AARF is a 501(c)3 Non Profit, all breed, no kill organization. Our group is always in need of donations in order to continue to give the needed medical care to our rescues. Adoption fees do not begin to cover all of the medical costs. Any donation , no matter how small is a big help and is greatly appreciated. Please help us to continue to help them. Thank you.
