I adopted Princess from a private owner who needed to rehome her because of a family medical issue. One of our cats does not like her and tries to attack her multiple times per day and this is causing undue stress on her and the people in the home. The cat will seek Princess out to attack her. Princess is about 2 years old. She has had all her shots, flea spot and heart worm preventative. She loves all the people of all ages she meets. She hasn't met a dog that she didn't like. She gets super excited. She is learning to walk well on leash and is doing very well. She can sit and will stay if I do not want her to go out the door and can leap into your arms when invited. Princess has tons of energy and loves to play and will do well in a home that is active.

If your application is approved, you will be required to come to us to pick up your dog.** Maple is located in San Antonio, TX. She weighs about 16 pounds and is about 6 years old. Some things about Maple. Maple is blind and she is diabetic but if you meet her, you would never know anything is wrong. She gets around her foster home and backyard with zero issues. She might have some sight to be able to see shadows. She jumps on and off the couch. She knows how to use the stairs at the end of the bed and couch (she doesn’t use them often though.) She is very active. She loves to go for walks, she loves other dogs, and doesn’t mind cats. She is very curious with the cats so she is not a stranger to a friendly cat swat here and there lol. She loves to eat. She is potty trained. I keep an exercise pen with her water, bed/blanket and pee pads. She stays in there when her foster is gone (so she doesn’t hurt herself), otherwise, she is free to run about the house. If she needs to go to the bathroom, some days she screams at her foster mom to be let out, and other times she quietly walks to her pen and goes on the pee pads. She does have accidents but that is expected since she is diabetic. She does not have them very often at all. She loves car rides, meeting new people, enjoying new adventures. This girl cannot be stopped!!! She is one of the most amazing dogs I have ever had the privilege of fostering. She deserves her own family and her own place to call home. I would suggest no kids and not too busy of a home. She will do great with a retired couple or even someone that needs someone to look after and care for. She loves attention, she loves to sleep under the covers right next to you. She sleeps in bed with me and she sleeps through the night. Located in San Antonio, Maple's adoption fee is $65.

Chet is a 3 yo  male miniature Pincher mix weighing 9#. He was rescued with another dog in Laredo and surrendered to PPR. Chet was extremely emaciated weighing just 6 # with his ribs very prominent and him looking for anything to eat to stay alive. He quickly learned to love attention and cuddles. He enjoys playing with anyone in the house who will join in. If he can’t find a willing playmate, he is quick to grab a soft toy or Nylabone. He rides well in a car, does quite well on a leash and is very comfortable sleeping in his kennel. He still thinks there may not be enough food and has done well eating in a slowdown bowl.With each change of routine, he will likely need a refresher course for his housebreaking.Chet is neutered, vaccinations up to date, and microchipped. Adoption Fee $250. Please submit an application.ADOPTION FEE & APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS Poquita Paws does not have a shelter, all of our dogs are raised in foster homes.  Each dog comes spay/neutered, rabies shots appropriate for their age, and dewormed twice.  The dogs are up to date on vaccinations according to their age at the time of adoption.  They are microchipped, heartworm tested and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventrative.  ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE. We transport to most states across the country. Medical records will come with each dog at the time of adoption.
