Want to meet me?? Come out and see me at our next event: Sunday, May 5, 2024 11:30-1:30pm Gaithersburg, MD- PetSmart 218 Kentlands Blvd Gaithersburg, MD 20878 *Dog attendance is not guaranteed. Feel free to text the event coordinator to confirm a particular dog's attendance: 703-447-4766 Meet Charlie! Charlie is about 2 years old and weighs about 26 lbs. Our best guess for Charlie's breed mix is Min Pin/Fiest Mix. Charlie is a happy boy who has a good mix of play time and snooze time. Once he has gotten his energy out, he is happy to chill with you on the couch or snuggle in for a nap. Charlie is good with other dogs but can be overly excited around cats. Although Charlie is not in a foster home with children, we feel he would do well with children 5 years and up. He is housetrained and SUPER friendly! Charlie would do best in a home where someone is around a good portion of the day. Charlie is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative and microchipped. ***You must be at least 25 years of age to adopt from Canine and Kitties Rescue*** The adoption fee for this dog is $375.00, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. ***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to us, thus we will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** Our organization cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and/or the general appearance of the animal. **Please visit www.caninesandkittiesrescue.org to complete our non-binding application.**

This adorable special needs pair has everyone that meets them falling in love with them. Miss Maggie is so sweet and friendly. She loves to explore and enjoys attention, cuddles and love from humans. Story
Hi, my name is Rambo! I am called that because I fear nothing!I am told I am about 2 years old. Personally, I think I might be younger than that.I am full grown and I weigh about 32lbs, the humans think I am a miniature pincher mix. What ever that means, the humans are saying someone named 'DNA' will tell us more when he arrives. So, I am waiting on him.I am full of energy and I love to hug and cuddle with the humans here in my foster home. I get along great with all their other dogs... and there's lots of other doggies here!Except, I don't like their beagle too much. She's grumpy and growls at me, but I tolerate her. Before I got here to my foster home, I was at a different foster house and they had lots of kitties. I liked the kitties just fine, even though they didn't like me too much. One them slapped me just because I sniffed him!For my forever home, I would love a human that likes to run. I love to run, too!! I also love to take long hikes in the woods.Swimming is ok... I wouldn't necessarily go looking for water to swim in, but I know how if I have to.I know how to rest when it's time, too. You don't have to entertain me all day, every day. But if I get some good exercise and cuddles in early in the day, I'm pretty happy till dinner time. Oh.. and did I mention I LOVE to eat?? And I take treats very gently. I would never want to hurt your fingers. And if you have a fenced in back yard, I promise I will keep the squirrels out!!And I am fully house trained. I will ask to go outside if I have to potty. My biggest wish is to find a home just like this. If you think I would make a good fit with you, your home and family, I would love to meet you!!**Please fill out the application on Fancy Cat's Website and we will schedule a meet-and-greet with Rambo. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application and a representative will get back to you shortly to answer any questions you may have. Story
I'm a sweet dog that recently came into the care of the Rockingham Harrisonburg SPCA. I'm still getting settled in so a little nervous when meeting new people. I need a special family that can provide for my ongoing medical needs. I had pancreatitis and had to be switched to a prescription low fat food. My bloodwork came back normal and the kind people here tell me that I can go home with a family that can make sure I visit a vet regularly, stay on my special diet and definitely don't get any human food. Oh, and I need to loose some weight but that's not a big deal as I like going for walks and being active. I'm worth the extra attention, come in and see me. Staff here can share my medical records with you so you can discuss with your vet to make sure everyone is ready for me to come home.

Story
Introducing the handsome Leonardo! This striking 2-year-old German Pinscher found himself in an unfamiliar place, the city pound, after being callously thrown out of a moving car, leaving him confused and frightened. Leonardo, still grappling with a lack of trust in people, tends to cower in the corner when approached, reflecting the trauma he has endured. Despite his initial reservations, this sweet boy does warm up, accepting treats from your hand and walking on a leash with familiarity. While Leonardo may not be an immediate snuggle enthusiast, the hope is that with patience, trust, and time, he can overcome his past traumas. What he needs most now is a family or individual willing to be patient and understanding. Leonardo has tested negative for heartworm, is up-to-date on his vaccines, microchipped, and is scheduled for neutering on Jan 24. This resilient pup has a companion he's attached to, both having shared the same traumatic experience of being thrown from a car. With the right environment and the chance to heal and rebuild trust, it's believed that Leonardo may not need his buddy if a prospective family cannot adopt them together. If you're interested in fostering, sponsoring, or adopting Leonardo, please find more information on our website: https://serendipityanimalrescue.org.
