He is a 6 year old (overweight) Miniature Pinscher. He is very sweet and loves to sit in your lap and cuddle. He will be neutered on Friday, February 27 and once healed, he will be ready for adoption. BoBo is a sweet little guy who will need someone to help him lose a little weight and be patient with him during this process. He will need gentle walks, good nutrition and time to return to a more appropriate weight. Shes a 4.5 year old Miniature Pinscher who comes to us from NACC as an owner surrendered pet. She weighs about 16 pounds and is roughly 5 years old. She loves toys, laps and kisses!! She will be spayed today (2/27) and once healed she will be ready for adoption. She does need to lose a few pounds so daily walking will be required for this little one to return to a healthy weight. Meet Noel. This sweet MinPin girl was abandoned when her owners moved away and left her behind. Thankfully, the landlord reached out to a rescue for help, and we had a foster home ready to welcome her in. Noel is currently being fostered with a mom, dad, and two resident dogs. She coexists well with other dogs and respects their space, but expects the same in return. She may give a little grumble if a dog gets in her face, but it’s appropriate communication, not aggression, and she responds well to correction. So far, she seems more interested in her humans than her canine housemates, though it’s still early. We think Noel would do well as an only dog or paired with a laid-back companion who respects boundaries. She is crate-trained and doing well with potty training. Her foster parents take her out regularly on leash and are limiting free roam while she continues to settle in. Once comfortable, Noel is a total snuggle bug. She loves giving kisses and happily burrows under the covers at bedtime. She also has a passion for balls and a good game of chase; she’ll play as long as you’re willing. Afterward, she’s content to curl up beside you for a nap. She’s a nice mix of moderate energy: always up for a walk or playtime, but equally happy to relax while you work. Noel has a sleek, shiny black coat that barely sheds and takes treats gently. Her leash skills are pretty good and improving with daily outings. She’s not barky around other dogs or people, though she may zig-zag a bit on walks as she takes in the world. This sweet girl is ready to be your loyal sidekick and best companion. Apply today! Sweet Empanada is as her name says. She is so sweet. She is a little scared still but she is coming around to her foster. She is tall and slim and loves attention. She came to us from a rural shelter partner so not much is known about her but we cannot wait to learn her character. She does do well on a leash although scared at first. She came to us with 5 other dogs, and she seems to do well with the Fosters dog. We can cat and kid test her if requested. She is a cute little 10-12 pound sweetheart. UPDATE: Empanada was recently adopted and returned within a week of adoption. The reason for return was related to housebreaking issues. Please understand that Empe came from a household where her needs and vetting were neglected. She was kept in a room where feces were piled up. It will take longer than a week for her to acclimate to a new change. She is a very sweet girl, and all her housemates are thriving in their new homes. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Granny would like to go home (and possibly get a better name, because she doesn't identify as a "Granny"). Granny does love a good snooze on the couch. Is it considered a nap if it lasts most of the day? Granny is asking for a friend Granny occasionally will play with her foster siblings outside. She loves to go for walks and car rides. Granny would also like everyone to know that "Granny doesn't share food". She would very much like to be fed separately from other dogs. Also, Granny gets so excited about treats that your fingers may be sacrificed. Watch those fingers Granny is around 10 years old, and she still needs to get a dental, but we will take care of that. Granny is being fostered in Waynesboro, VA, and is willing to travel to a new foster or foster to adopter! Mora is a sweet, loyal, and affectionate Min Pin Mix who loves belly rubs, toys, and long naps in the sun after some window watching. She bonds deeply with her people and thrives on snuggles and treats! She loves going for walks and exploring the outside. She would be best in an active home that will take her exploring, or at a minimum, someone with a fenced back yard that she can freely explore. Like many dogs, Mora takes mealtime seriously — she prefers to enjoy her food without interruptions. She may growl if another animal approaches her while she eats, but this is easily managed by placing her food in a quiet location without other pets. Outside of mealtime, shes a total lovebug who wants nothing more than to be by your side and follow you everywhere. She has a love of all humans big and small and is extremely tolerant and patient with the smallest of humans as they try to navigate their new worlds with pets and people. One of Mora’s favorite activities when she isn’t outside is to play tug of war with the other animals in the home. She is great with other dogs, big and small. Cats aren’t her favorite, and she will quickly chase them out of the room. If you're looking for a loyal companion with a big heart, great love for babies, adults and everything in between, Mora might just be your perfect match! She is being fostered in Newport News.
