Story
Jacapo is 11 years old. Unfortunately, my father is unable to take care of him anymore. He’s well behaved, a little overweight. He likes to eat food. He’s just looking for someone to lay next to and have someone feed him snacks. He has no vet records so I am unsure if he’s up to date on any shots.

Story
Hi, I'm Boston! I'm an 11-lb poodle and I'm just ten months old. If we were meeting in person, right now I'd be greeting you with happy wiggles and immediately offering my belly for scratches. Once I warm up to you, I am incredibly loyal and I will always stick by your side. Favorite Things: Bouncy Boston still has his puppy energy, so he absolutely loves running around, playing with toys, and sniffing everything outdoors. Boston also loves mealtime (as well as dried chicken treats and peanut butter Kongs in between meals).  Training & Manners: He may be relatively young pup, but Boston is a smart cookie! He already knows some basic commands and responds to his name well. He can be a bit shy when arriving in a new place, but once he is settled in, he can sleep in the people bed. He also naps throughout the day and enjoys a consistent routine. Like many young dogs, he occasionally tries to test boundaries as he grows more confident and he does sometimes pull on the leash, but this can be resolved with more practice leash-walking. He is housetrained, but he does drink a lot of water and should be let out at least every four hours.  Health & Care: Boston is a healthy boy! He is neutered, heartworm-negative, and up-to-date on vaccinations. He needs adopters in the central Florida region who will commit to taking him to his neuter: this appointment has already been made and the cost is covered in his adoption donation. Other than that, he will just need monthly flea and heart preventatives, like any dog. As a Poodle, he will need regular brushing plus professional grooming about every 6-8 weeks.  Other Animals:  Boston enjoys playing with other dogs, both big and small. He hasn't been observed around cats yet, but his foster thinks he would be OK with them.  Children: Boston is wonderful with children. He’s gentle, respectful, and loves greeting them. Ideal Home: Given his love of running and playing, a home with a yard would be ideal for him, but he could do well in an apartment if his adopter is committed to giving him one or two solid walks a day. Overall: According to Boston's foster, he is "truly one of the best dogs I’ve ever fostered, and honestly, one of the best dogs I’ve ever met" who deserves a family who can give him plenty of love, structure, and attention.  Don't let Boston "slip away"! If It's "more than a feeling", visit www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org to fill out an adoption application. If it seems like it could be a good match, his foster family will reach out with more information. His adoption donation is $650. ##2569455##

Story
Marty is being fostered in PA. Little Marty is a sweet, easy-going little mini poodle guy who gets along with dogs and cats and people of all ages. His breed is guessed at as a full blooded mini poodle. His estimated age is about 13 but he's a very quick-stepping little man and enjoys exploring his environment, especially outside. He can find his way to the door and he was doing a great job at pottying outside until his foster mom went back to work a couple weeks ago. He will be very easy to get back in the habit of eliminating outside with a forever family who is home more. He's fairly easy to figure out in that, if he's up and exploring, he needs to go out. :) Marty has a very thin coat of fur on his torso but he does not have any visible skin issues and does not itch. His thyroid levels were checked and were fine. We know little about his past life so he may be recuperating from a past issue. Marty is leash trained and does well but because he's a small and older guy, walks won't be very fast. He also rides well in the car. At this time, he seems to enjoy dog bed hopping over being on a lap and he will walk right off the edge of a chair or bed. He needs to be carried up and down stairs and has no awareness of being at the top of stairs. He will remind his foster mom if his breakfast or dinner is overly late. Marty has had a slight cough since arriving in his foster home and following an xray on September 16th, it was discovered that his heart is slightly enlarged and he has a small amount of fluid in the upper portion of his one lung. These are both signs of congestive heart failure, which is fairly common in little old men like Marty. He will probably need to take Benazepril, Lasix and Pimobendan for the rest of his life. These medications run about 50.00 per month. Marty will have a dental on September 26th. He will probably need to have most, if not all, of his teeth extracted but it will be so much better for him to have a healthy mouth again! Marty will make a sweet little companion for some family. He's very excited to be spoiled and doted on for the rest of his days. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
Marvin the Munchkin, a charming medium-sized poodle, is seeking a loving home. He enjoys snuggling and is wonderful with children. He would thrive in a home where his new family can dedicate quality time to him, as his current owner is no longer able to provide the companionship he needs, leading to him spending extended periods alone.
