Hello, my name is FINLEY and I sure would like to tell you about myself. Don't you think I'm a handsome dude?! I was just groomed and everyone told me I was so good! I am 11 healthy years old! All my tests are perfect, and I don't have any medical issues whatsoever. I am up to date with all my vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped and on heartworm prevention. I'm very smart and learn things very quickly, like using the doggie door and the ramp to get on the bed. Yep, I sleep on the bed with my human. My housetraining is a work in progress, but Im actually doing much better now that my foster mom takes me out regularly and often. I'm sure I can master this once I am in my permanent home. I warm up quickly to everyone. Just hold out a kind hand and I will come to you. I love, love, love people and I really want to be near my humans as much as possible. I'll curl up to you on the couch and look up at you to pet me. I really love tummy rubs too. How could you resist me? I greet you eagerly when you come home even if you just go to the mailbox and come back to the house! I must confess that I will grab all the attention I can get. To be honest, my ideal home would be as the only dog, so I have all the attention from my human. I'm not a picky eater at all. I'm easy to please when it comes to food. I guess I had better tell you what I absolutely don't like. I really hate riding in any type of vehicle: cars, RVs, trucks, SUVs, dune buggies, bicycles, anything with wheels!! I hope you would like to meet me. I really am a very good boy and all I want is to be loved, petted, get belly rubs, and feel safe. Am I asking too much? I hope not. If you met me, you'd know what a sweet and loving boy I am. If you wish to be considered for FINLEY or any of our dogs, you are welcome to start the process by filling out an Adoption Application which can be found on our website at www.coastalpoodlerescue.org . Story
Marty is being fostered in PA. 1-17-2026 Update for Marty Marty is doing really well in his foster home and is still a spunky little man with a bit of arthritis in his backend but it doesn't slow him down. Marty's hearing continues to be pretty good for his age and he is right in the mix of his foster siblings when Mom comes home after being out for any time. Marty's hair has grown in nicely on his back. He was almost bald when he came to his foster home. Marty's foster mom had never seen a change in a foster's personality quite as drastic as she did following Marty's dental, when all of his teeth had to be removed. Some teeth were so badly decayed that they had begun to calcify and attach to his jaw bones. After a few days of recovery, he began to eat and to be interested in the world. Marty eats soaked kibble with some soft food mixed in and eats every bite of each meal. He is now on 4 medications for his congestive heart failure and is doing very well with just an occasional cough. Fun facts about Marty: -He LOVES burrowing into beds that have a flap for him to crawl under -He is not safe when on furniture because he will quickly decide he wants off and give no warning and has no fear. -Marty never barks -Marty is smaller than the two cats in his foster home and really doesn't care. :) Little Marty is a sweet, easy-going little mini poodle guy who gets along with dogs and cats and people of all ages. His breed is guessed at as a full blooded mini poodle. His estimated age is about 13 but he's a very quick-stepping little man and enjoys exploring his environment, especially outside. He can find his way to the door and he was doing a great job at pottying outside until his foster mom went back to work a couple weeks ago. He will be very easy to get back in the habit of eliminating outside with a forever family who is home more. He's fairly easy to figure out in that, if he's up and exploring, he needs to go out. :) Marty has a very thin coat of fur on his torso but he does not have any visible skin issues and does not itch. His thyroid levels were checked and were fine. We know little about his past life so he may be recuperating from a past issue. Marty is leash trained and does well but because he's a small and older guy, walks won't be very fast. He also rides well in the car. At this time, he seems to enjoy dog bed hopping over being on a lap and he will walk right off the edge of a chair or bed. He needs to be carried up and down stairs and has no awareness of being at the top of stairs. He will remind his foster mom if his breakfast or dinner is overly late. Marty has had a slight cough since arriving in his foster home and following an xray on September 16th, it was discovered that his heart is slightly enlarged and he has a small amount of fluid in the upper portion of his one lung. These are both signs of congestive heart failure, which is fairly common in little old men like Marty. He will probably need to take Benazepril, Lasix and Pimobendan for the rest of his life. These medications run about 50.00 per month. Marty will have a dental on September 26th. He will probably need to have most, if not all, of his teeth extracted but it will be so much better for him to have a healthy mouth again! Marty will make a sweet little companion for some family. He's very excited to be spoiled and doted on for the rest of his days. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
Bentley is being fostered in Illinois. Bentley has some vision.Bentley, a reserved, easy-going gentleman is looking for a calm, relaxed housemate/best friend. He was recently interviewed about his special search. What would your perfect “digs” include?-I am very shy, so it would have an area to sleep and dine privately with some storage for my soft, plushy toy stash. In addition I would need a second cozy dog bed for relaxing and just “being” closer to my human(s) in the common area.-Ideally it must also include green space. I love to be outdoors! The words “outside” or “walk” just start my tail a-wagging uncontrollably. (See video) A leisurely jaunt at a medium waddle with an occasional relaxed trot or a super fun “Sniffari” is enjoyed several times a day!Would you share the qualities you need in a housemate/best friend?- My person will need to be patient, intuitive and willing to take the time for trust building. (As an introvert, I can be a puzzle and full of contradictions). Here are a few examples....I require a large perimeter of personal space, but offer the same to my person. I am low-maintenance, well-mannered and not an in-your-face attention-seeker, yet I also feel safe and the most comfortable knowing my human is nearby. This makes me an ideal housemate for a retiree or a remote worker.A cuddle bug I am not, yet I have been known to fall asleep in a lap occasionally and I find head scratches or butt and back rubs absolutely irresistible.Meeting humans is difficult for me, yet I approach well-mannered dogs happily. What do you consider your finest quality?-I am agreeable. Dress me up in a silly sweater, wipe my dirty toes when I come in the house, give me a bath, take a car ride.....as long as I am with you, I’m all in.And your weakest?-I am working on conquering my insecurities. I get anxious when I am home alone for a long stretch, so I sometimes have potty accidents.Bentley, what else would you like to tell folks?-I sleep through the night and during the day it is my mission to provide quiet company, put a smile on your face and love in your heart.BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
Hi, I’m Moby! I’m an adorable 10-year-old Shih Tzu-Poodle boy who is looking for a home that’s as laid back as me. At 18 pounds of pure chill, I’m a certified couch potato and proud of it!  My vision is impaired but that doesn’t damper my curiosity or love of cuddles.  Favorite Things: Moby loves naps and food!  He also likes to stay close to his special person and, in between naps, will follow them around the house, curious about their activities. Due to his vision impairment, he takes his time getting from one place to another and can startle easily.  He can take or leave toys, but he does enjoy short, leisurely walks, especially if they involve treats. This little guy enjoys fresh blueberries and other dog-friendly fruits, as well as steamed carrots and a bit of peanut butter now and again. Training & Manners: Moby is house trained in his foster home where he is let out regularly. He has good basic house manners and walks well on a leash.  He tolerates a car ride and, once he settles down for the night, sleeps soundly, either in the people bed or his dog bed. Health & Care: Moby is currently given eye ointments and drops several times/day and the cost of these medicines is about $45 per month.  This handsome guy is neutered, heartworm negative, current on vaccinations, microchipped, and recently had a dental cleaning. He’ll need monthly flea and heartworm preventatives, like any dog, and regular brushing and professional grooming every 6 -8 weeks will help him look and feel his best. Other Animals: Moby has experience with other dogs and tends to ignore them.  Very active dogs, especially large ones, can startle him given his vision issues.  Moby hasn’t been tested with cats but his foster mom thinks he would be ok with them. Children: This sweet senior would do best in a home with adults and teens only. Ideal Home: Moby is vision-impaired and depth perception is a particular issue, so a home without stairs or a pool is a must for him.  Otherwise, he would do fine in an apartment, condo, townhome or single home. Once he becomes familiar with the home and with special attention paid to the safety of his surroundings, Moby can be left alone in the home for a few hours without issues. Overall: If you’re looking for a low-key, gentle, and loving companion, Moby might be the one for you.  If you think he might be, visit www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org to fill out an adoption application. If it seems like it could be a good match, his foster family will reach out with more information. His adoption donation is $275. ##2697888##

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Dude and Little Buddy are two sweet senior boys who have spent years together and are now looking for a loving home to spend their golden years side by side. They share a very close bond and must be adopted together. These boys are happiest when they’re with their people. They love lounging on the couch or snuggling in bed and would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time, as they do not enjoy being left alone.  They get along well with other dogs, cats, and children, making them an easy addition to many homes. Dude and Little Buddy came to us due to unforeseen life changes in their family. Their owner was no longer able to care for them, and despite their family’s best efforts, there was no way to keep them together in their new living situation. These two loving companions are simply looking for a soft place to land and a family who will cherish them as much as they deserve.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 29, 2026, 7:27 pm
