Story
Marty is being fostered in PA. 6/18/26 Update 6/9/2026 Marty is doing well in his foster home. He is most likely, closer to 16 years old. He is now on 4 medications to treat his congestive heart failure. He eats very well and has no trouble locating his foster mom for breakfast and dinner. He continues to have noticeable arthritis in his lower back but seems to handle it well. He is a sweet and very quiet boy who loves the simple things in life such as a soft bed, timely meals, lots of time to nap and kisses on his head. He prefers to lie in his bed and is not comfortable being a lap dog. Marty’s adoptive home would need to willing to allow him to sleep in a doggy bed and not insist he sleep on a lap or furniture. They would also have to be located within a few hours of his foster home, as a transport would not be healthy for him. 1-17-2026 Update for Marty Marty is doing really well in his foster home and is still a spunky little man with a bit of arthritis in his backend but it doesn't slow him down. Marty's hearing continues to be pretty good for his age and he is right in the mix of his foster siblings when Mom comes home after being out for any time. Marty's hair has grown in nicely on his back. He was almost bald when he came to his foster home. Marty's foster mom had never seen a change in a foster's personality quite as drastic as she did following Marty's dental, when all of his teeth had to be removed. Some teeth were so badly decayed that they had begun to calcify and attach to his jaw bones. After a few days of recovery, he began to eat and to be interested in the world. Marty eats soaked kibble with some soft food mixed in and eats every bite of each meal. He is now on 4 medications for his congestive heart failure and is doing very well with just an occasional cough. Fun facts about Marty: -He LOVES burrowing into beds that have a flap for him to crawl under -He is not safe when on furniture because he will quickly decide he wants off and give no warning and has no fear. -Marty never barks -Marty is smaller than the two cats in his foster home and really doesn't care. :) Little Marty is a sweet, easy-going little mini poodle guy who gets along with dogs and cats and people of all ages. His breed is guessed at as a full blooded mini poodle. His estimated age is about 13 but he's a very quick-stepping little man and enjoys exploring his environment, especially outside. He can find his way to the door and he was doing a great job at pottying outside until his foster mom went back to work a couple weeks ago. He will be very easy to get back in the habit of eliminating outside with a forever family who is home more. He's fairly easy to figure out in that, if he's up and exploring, he needs to go out. :) Marty has a very thin coat of fur on his torso but he does not have any visible skin issues and does not itch. His thyroid levels were checked and were fine. We know little about his past life so he may be recuperating from a past issue. Marty is leash trained and does well but because he's a small and older guy, walks won't be very fast. He also rides well in the car. At this time, he seems to enjoy dog bed hopping over being on a lap and he will walk right off the edge of a chair or bed. He needs to be carried up and down stairs and has no awareness of being at the top of stairs. He will remind his foster mom if his breakfast or dinner is overly late. Marty has had a slight cough since arriving in his foster home and following an xray on September 16th, it was discovered that his heart is slightly enlarged and he has a small amount of fluid in the upper portion of his one lung. These are both signs of congestive heart failure, which is fairly common in little old men like Marty. He will probably need to take Benazepril, Lasix and Pimobendan for the rest of his life. These medications run about 50.00 per month. Marty will have a dental on September 26th. He will probably need to have most, if not all, of his teeth extracted but it will be so much better for him to have a healthy mouth again! Marty will make a sweet little companion for some family. He's very excited to be spoiled and doted on for the rest of his days. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
Three adorable poodle mixed puppies. Previous owner stated they were Labradoodles but we were not able to confirm by seeing parents etc. A little bit shy as they have not been given a lot of attention in previous home. But very sweet. Working on potty training.

Story
Teddy is a great dog. We have had him for 4 years and I’ve honestly spoiled him since he was a puppy. Our family has grown over the 4 years to another dog large cockapoo, wife and and now 2 babies and he isn’t getting the attention he did and deserves. He’s very smart and is now acting out for attention. He’s is a nap cuddle up and hangout kind of dog. Also very playful and finds ways of getting out of the backyard to go play with local neighbors

Story
CODY is poodle JR terrier. He loves fetch. He likes water. He is 10 years old. I've had him with nyself for 10 years. Leaving him is breaking my heart. Cody is sweet boy. He likes to snuggle with his owner. He would be a good fit for a single person. He's active but if you throw the ball 50 times, 50 times he'll bring it back. Who ever adopts Cody will have laughter. Like I said Cody loves fetch.. NOT so good with kids and some dogs. It's overstimulating for him. Otherwise Cody is a good boy. Hope to hear from you.

Story
Hi, I'm Colin, a 4-year-old, 14 lb Shih Tzu/Poodle blend and a professional sidekick-in-training. If you've ever wished for a cheerful little shadow to accompany you through your day, I might be your guy. I love knowing where my people are and what they're doing, and I'm happiest when I can be nearby. New situations may earn a curious glance or two, but it doesn't take long before I'm settled in, soaking up affection, and showing off my adorable wiggle-butt greetings. Favorite Things: Colin enjoys leisurely walks, tasty treats, soft places to nap, and simply sharing space with his favorite humans. Toys aren't a big priority for him as he's perfectly content without them but a cozy spot and good company are always welcome. Training and Manners: Colin has good basic manners and is housetrained when given regular outdoor breaks. He can be left alone for several hours, settles quietly in the home, and sleeps comfortably in his dog bed at night. Food-motivated and eager to learn, Colin enjoys figuring things out and has already shown he's quite the clever little problem solver. While he's still gaining confidence on leash walks, he already walks politely without pulling and continues to make great progress as he adjusts to his new surroundings. Health and Care: Colin is a healthy boy who is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. Like all dogs, he will need monthly heartworm, flea, and tick prevention. As a Shih Tzu/Poodle blend, he also benefits from regular professional grooming to keep him looking and feeling his best. Other Animals: Colin can be dog selective, so he will need to be the only dog in his forever home at this time.  He has not been tested with cats, but his foster believes he may do well with a calm cat and proper introductions. Children: Colin is best suited for a home with older children (8+) that will be better able to help reinforce his training while enjoying all the fun and affection he has to offer. Ideal Home: Colin would do well in a variety of living environments, including a single-family home, apartment, townhome, or condo. What matters most is a consistent routine, opportunities for activity, and plenty of time spent with those he loves. Once settled, Colin is an easygoing companion who enjoys being part of the day's activities and adapts well to new situations. He has also shown a remarkably steady temperament, remaining calm during holiday fireworks and other unexpected noises. Overall: Colin is the kind of dog who quickly becomes part of the fabric of everyday life. Whether he's keeping you company while you tackle your to-do list, relaxing nearby during a quiet evening, or greeting you with happy wiggles, he brings a comforting presence wherever he goes. Easygoing, adaptable, and full of character, Colin is ready to find a place where he can truly shine. Could Colin be the lovable little shadow your family has been waiting for? If so, fill out an adoption application at poodleandpoochrescue.org. If it seems like a good fit his foster family will reach out. Colin’s adoption donation is $400. ##2758230##
