PLEASE READ THE INFORMATION BELOW THOROUGHLY ____________________ **I am part of a bonded pair and MUST go home with my Best Furry Friend (BFF), Shakira. I also have a mild heart condition that requires daily medication. I also sometimes have difficulty walking on tile or other slippery surfaces due to a birth defect. But don't let that fool you—I can RUN! My body has adapted, and I have figured out my own way of getting around. It doesn't slow me down one bit! NOTE: we CANNOT email information about fees. View our GENERAL fees here (you will need to copy/paste into your browser): https://theanimalleague.org/adoption-fees/ All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, receive a registered microchip, and are up-to-date on their age-appropriate shots, vaccines, and preventative care. We also test for heartworm when they are old enough. APPLICATION: https://theanimalleague.org/adoption-application/ Please visit https://theanimalleague.org/faqs/ for the answers to our most commonly asked questions such as, "what are your fees," "when can I visit," and "what is your adoption process." Story
🧛‍♂️🐾 **Meet Beet Root!** 🐾🧛‍♂️ Vampire or dog? We're still not entirely sure. Beet Root came to us after being found with a neck laceration. Thankfully, his injury has healed beautifully. However, many people ask about his purple coloring. No, he wasn't born that way, and no, he isn't secretly part eggplant. His finder sprayed a purple wound treatment on him, and that's where his unique look comes from! Beet Root is a dog who likes to do things on **Beet Root Time**. He came with a little spice and took about a week to fully trust his foster family. Once he decided they were worthy, though, he let them into his circle and has been steadily building confidence ever since. He's learning that humans can be pretty great—as long as they respect his boundaries. One important rule: **nothing on the butt!** Beet Root is not a fan of butt scratches and would appreciate everyone keeping their hands to themselves in that department. Underneath that spicy exterior is a sweet, affectionate boy with a loving and cuddly side. The fastest way to win him over? A game of fetch. Fetch is Beet Root's absolute favorite activity, and he'll happily spend hours chasing a ball and bringing it back for another throw. He's also a big fan of treats and is more than willing to work for snacks. When he's not playing fetch, Beet Root is great at entertaining himself. He loves tossing toys around, carrying them proudly, and growling at them during epic battles that only he understands. Beet Root is looking for a patient adopter who will allow him to build trust at his own pace and appreciate his quirky personality. Once you're in his circle, you'll discover a loyal companion with plenty of love to give. 📍 Learn more about Beet Root and our adoption process at: 🌐 **[www.runawaysanimalrescue.org](http://www.runawaysanimalrescue.org)** =

Story
Hi there, my name is Wanda. I am a very shy girl who takes a bit of time to warm up to new people. But once I know I'm safe and can trust you, I turn into the sweetest love bug and will follow my person around like a shadow! I love stuffed toys and playing tug-of-war, but the true key to my heart is chicken! I'm doing very well in my foster home with learning potty-training and commands, they learned I love car rides and am very tolerant of bathing! I do fantastic with other dogs of any size and get along well with cats. Due to my shyness with strangers and quick movements, I may have a tendency to nip out of fear or defensiveness, so I would do best in a quiet household with no young kids. I would love to find my new home where I can follow my person around like a shadow all day long!
