Hi there, I’m Hermie! I’m a sweet 5-year-old boy poodle mix weighing just 11 pounds, and I’m looking for that one special person to be my whole world. I’m very loving and affectionate with excellent manners – I’m house-trained, crate-trained, sleep in my own bed like a gentleman, and I’m even polite enough to wait until other dogs finish eating before checking for crumbs! I ride well in the car, walk great on a leash, and I get along with other dogs. And I LOVE to sit on the back of the couch and play with my toys! Now, here’s what makes me unique: I’m a one-person kind of guy who forms a VERY deep bond with my human. When I love, I love big! I can be a bit protective of my special person and I’m not always thrilled about strangers getting too close – I like to keep my circle small and my devotion big. Because of this, I need an experienced adopter who appreciates a pup with a strong personality and can guide me with confidence. I have been living in multi-dog foster homes recently and I’m learning to share my human’s attention so I think a calm, adult-only home with at least one other dog or multiple dogs would be ideal for me. No kids, please. Oh, and I eat a special Rx food due to a sensitive stomach – just a little detail to keep me feeling my best! I’m ready to be someone’s devoted companion and shadow. I overheard my mom say I’m “special” because I have four legs, but only three feet. I’m not sure what special means, but I don’t let it bother me one bit! I keep up with the pack and can jump, run, and play. I love belly rubs and will show anyone my belly to get them. I also like to give kisses. I’m 90% potty trained and I’m kennel trained. I would like a home where I can have lots of affection, a companion, and a fence. I don’t understand leash walking, I like to be independent when I potty. I’m a little guy with a big heart, three paws and lots of love to give.
