NAME:  Dominic BREED:  Poodle/Rat Terrier mix SEX:  male COLOR:  black/white AGE:  1 yr as of May 2025 WEIGHT:  11.5 lbs   FOSTERED BY: LOCATED IN: NOTES FROM FOSTER FAMILY: Hi! My name is Dominic, but my foster mom calls me Fluffy because I’m so soft. I love to play with my foster siblings and I’m a good follower, so I would like a friend who will rough house with me and that I can follow to gain my confidence. I overheard my mom say I’m “special” because I have four legs, but only three feet. I’m not sure what special means, but I don’t let it bother me one bit! I keep up with the pack and can jump, run, and play. I love belly rubs and will show anyone my belly to get them. I also like to give kisses. I’m 90% potty trained and I’m kennel trained. I would like a home where I can have lots of affection, a companion, and a fence. I don’t understand leash walking, I like to be independent when I potty. I’m a little guy with a big heart, three paws and lots of love to give. Will you give me a furever home?  Dominic came from a confiscation case (along with his siblings and mom) but unfortunately poor Dominic had gotten his foot caught in the rabbit cage that he was stuck in and sadly chewed off his foot to get loose.  He is doing amazing and hasn't let that stop him from being a happy little guy!   If you are interested in adopting please complete our Adoption Application by copying and pasting the following link into your web browser: http://www.caninecastaways.org/adoption-application For a full list of dogs we currently have for adoption use this link:  https://www.caninecastaways.org/adoptable-dogs MEDICAL INFO: The following has been or will be done for this puppy at the appropriate age... - Basic Exam by Veterinarian - Spayed or Neutered - Placed on heartworm preventive - Basic Bloodwork - Microchipped - Intestinal Parasite Exam and medication - Vaccinations - Placed on flea preventive ADOPTION DONATION: $300 This adoption donation helps to cover the vet expenses for this puppy including heartworm preventive which is dispensed at the initial vet visit and then goes with the dog at adoption. Story
Hi there, I’m Hermie! I’m a sweet 5-year-old boy poodle mix weighing just 11 pounds, and I’m looking for that one special person to be my whole world. I’m very loving and affectionate with excellent manners – I’m house-trained, crate-trained, sleep in my own bed like a gentleman, and I’m even polite enough to wait until other dogs finish eating before checking for crumbs! I ride well in the car, walk great on a leash, and I get along with other dogs. And I LOVE to sit on the back of the couch and play with my toys! Now, here’s what makes me unique: I’m a one-person kind of guy who forms a VERY deep bond with my human. When I love, I love big! I can be a bit protective of my special person and I’m not always thrilled about strangers getting too close – I like to keep my circle small and my devotion big. Because of this, I need an experienced adopter who appreciates a pup with a strong personality and can guide me with confidence. I have been living in multi-dog foster homes recently and I’m learning to share my human’s attention so I think a calm, adult-only home with at least one other dog or multiple dogs would be ideal for me. No kids, please. Oh, and I eat a special Rx food due to a sensitive stomach – just a little detail to keep me feeling my best! I’m ready to be someone’s devoted companion and shadow. Are you ready for some serious loyalty? You can submit an application through the rescue website, www.floridacockerrescue.org. ADOPTION FEE: $350.

Story
🧡 Meet Lucy – A Tender-Hearted Survivor Looking for Love 🧡 Lucy is a 3-year-old spayed female who was rescued from a severe hoarding situation along with over 30 other dogs. She's gentle, quiet, and incredibly resilient despite everything she’s been through. This sweet girl is not leash-trained yet, but she is pad trained and very gentle when hand-fed. She's learning to eat from a bowl and starting to explore life outside her comfort zone. Lucy enjoys being held and seems to find comfort in gentle lap time and petting — her favorite spot is a soft dog bed in a quiet corner. Lucy is not aggressive and has never growled or snapped, even under stress. She’s shy and will need someone with patience and experience with unsocialized or hoarded dogs to help her continue her journey to healing. What Lucy Needs in a Home: A calm, quiet household (no young children, please) A fenced yard with a smaller, secure potty area Another kind and confident dog to help her learn the ropes A person or family with patience, love, and a gentle routine Lucy is currently being housed with her friend Ethel, and they have begun to be separated to encourage independence. This is a special girl who didn’t ask for the circumstances she came from — but she deserves the very best going forward. If you’re ready to open your heart to a dog who will reward your patience with quiet loyalty and love, Lucy is ready to begin her new chapter. 📍 Located in Bradenton, FL 📩 Apply to adopt at ewenityfarmsbch.com

Story
🐶 Meet Lewis – A Gentle Rescue Dog Learning to Trust 🐾 📍 Spring Hill, FL | 🐕‍🦺 Neutered🕒 Age: Approx. 2–3 years | ⚕️ Heartworm Negative | 🐾 Male Lewis's early life lacked the love and structure every dog deserves, but he’s making progress each day in his foster home. Lewis is a sweet, submissive boy who’s curious and playful, but still learning to feel safe around people. Lewis is about 15 lbs. He’s never shown any signs of aggression — not even at the vet. He just needs a calm, patient adopter who can help him continue his journey toward trust and confidence. 🐾 Personality: Shy but gentle and submissive Playful with other dogs – he needs a kind canine friend! Curious and slowly coming out of his shell No resource guarding or aggression 🐕 Training Progress: Learning to walk on a leash Crate trained – keeps his crate clean with scheduled potty breaks. Working on housebreaking Eats well from a bowl Learning that pets and affection are good things 🏡 Lewis Needs: A fenced yard (small is fine) – he’s not ready for open spaces yet A friendly, confident dog in the home to guide him is a MUST A calm, experienced home (prior experience with shy, unsocialized, or hoarded dogs is a big plus) Someone who understands progress will be slow but incredibly rewarding 💙 Lewis is a diamond in the rough who will blossom in the right environment. With love, structure, and another dog to show him the ropes, he will make an incredible companion. 📩 Apply to adopt at: ewenityfarmsbch.com
