Jingle came into our program as a breeder release, a young adult with a long life ahead of her. When Jingle arrived in her foster home, she was quite reserved. She was confused, she wasn't sure if this was a good thing or not. She was very timid & scared. Boy, has she really changed, she has flourished & bloomed! Once so scared, she willingly goes to her foster mom & seeks companionship & cuddles from her. She will do best in a calm, low activity home. A home that is willing to patiently allow her to adjust & get used to her forever environment. Going into a new home will be another change for Jingle, but she is very brave & we know that she will successfully make the transition if given a chance. She will do best learning from other 4-legged siblings, we would like to see her find a home with some friends of similar size & energy level. She follows her foster siblings around, she likes to play with them very gently, no rough housing. In her foster home, she has proven to be 100% house trained. We are so proud of her. With that said, her new family must understand she could have a few accidents until she gets her new routine down. Please be prepared to give her ample opportunity for success, praise her when she does it right, & be patient with her. We have given Jingle space to decompress & get used to being a pet. We have not pushed the issue of leash training. We do not know if that is something she would enjoy in the future or not. Therefore, for her safety (& for her to be able to do her potty business immediately upon adoption), a secure physical fence yard is required. An aluminum or slat type of fencing will need a gap filler around the bottom half so she can't get through, something like galvanized wire mesh or another sturdy material. She isn't an outdoor adventure dog; she doesn't need a big yard. But she does need a very secure area to do her potty business. Never EVER should she be left in the yard alone. Jingle is the type of dog that becomes your BFF. Your movie-watching, couch lounging, hanging out, reliable friend. We look forward to matching Jingle with her forever family soon!

Story
Honey is a 5-year-old poodle mix with a gentle, shy heart who is learning what it means to be loved. She came from a puppy mill and is ready to move forward into a calm, patient home where she can continue to blossom. Honey is a sweet girl who enjoys toys and chewing on her favorite Nylabones, and when you hold her she melts right into you, pressing close and completely relaxing. She would enjoy having another friendly dog in the home to help her feel confident and give her a buddy to play with. Honey is currently working on going potty outside and is learning how to walk on a leash, so she’ll need a family willing to continue helping her build those skills. A secure fenced yard will help her feel safe while she gains confidence. Car rides can make her nervous, so she does best when crated or safely seat-belted so she doesn’t try to hide. Because of her shy nature, Honey will need a home without young children and with gentle, patient people who will give her time to adjust. With love and understanding, this sweet girl will make a devoted and affectionate companion. Honey is spayed, up to date on all vaccines, had a dental, heart worm negative and on heartworm preventative, de-wormed, and microchipped. Honey’s adoption fee is $350.00. Story
Hi, my name is Shia! I’m a 5-year-old Maltipoo looking for my forever home. I came to All About Paws Rescue as a breeder surrender, and after raising my final litter, I’m finally ready to enjoy the life I deserve. I’m a quiet, gentle lady who loves giving kisses and being close to my people. My foster mom says I make the perfect companion because I like to follow my human around and stay nearby when we’re relaxing—but I’m not overly clingy. I get along well with other dogs and love playing outside with my foster siblings. I’m still learning a few things, like leash walking and building confidence on car rides, but I’m making progress every day. I’m also learning that chasing kitties isn’t polite, so I’ll need a family who can continue guiding me. I do have a habit of guarding my food, so I’m fed separately from other pets. I’m also working on potty training outdoors, but I do well using potty pads inside. Because I’m learning to love outdoor time so much, a fenced yard is a must for me! If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal companion who just wants to be near you and share lots of love, I might be your perfect match. Shia is spayed, up to date on all vaccines, had a heart worm test, on heartworm preventative, de-wormed, had a dental, and microchipped. Shia’s adoption fee is $350.00. Please go to our website aaprescue.org to learn about our adoption process.

Story
Elliana They gave me a fancy name at last! Can you believe it? I have been used as a breeder dog for years and years and then dumped at the local pound with a mammary gland tumor that you could play tennis with!! Who does that!!! At least that is what my foster mom thinks my life has been like. I sat there in a cage at animal control for 4 weeks before anyone would think about pulling me out of there but my foster mom said that she had to take me home so that I would have a chance to be a beloved pet before I die. Not that I am planning to do that anytime soon, but you never know. Anyhow, I went to the vet right away and had that big nasty thing taken off my stomach and the vets knew right away what it was and what it was from. They took out the baby making bits as well, so I won’t have to go through having my babies and then losing them right away to being just a baby and money making factory for somebody. Sheesh….get a job!! I have some issues, I won’t lie, but I am starting to kind of get used to being out of a cage, where I learned to circle around and around as there wasn’t a lot of space in those things. I can walk in a straight line and the more I get time outside, the more I am enjoying the fresh air and smells in the grass. I will revert to circles when I am nervous but Rome wasn’t built in a day and I have only had freedom for a couple of months now. I don’t have many teeth, as the ones I did have were rotted and broken from trying to eat the bars I suppose. I startle easily from the lack of being held and loved in my former life, and will try to “gum” you if I pick me up too quickly. But speaking to me and touching me before you pick me up will let me know you are there and going to be gentle with me. I am still getting used to the being held part, and sometimes can’t tolerate it very long, but I am learning and going slow is really helpful to me. I am learning what good food tastes like, and what a soft bed feels like, and while I have pretty limited vision to see things, I can follow my nose and it helps me to find everything I need to get around. Foster mom leaves me a puppy pad to potty on in the house if I have to go at night, and I am pretty good at using it. It took a while to figure out that is what it was for, but also, if I potty outside after meals, I am good if I keep to a schedule. So that is my story. If you are interested in giving a blind old lady a soft landing for the rest of my life, let me know. Local adoption in Texas only please.

Story
**PLEASE READ BIO BEFORE APPLYING** He is an old man who spent his life as a breeder so is a nervous dog. He will need a fully fenced yard, he is not leash trained and will likely never be. Since Marlin lived his first 8 years in a crate, being used only for breeding, he is terrified of people. He would rather be seen and not touched. He needs a quiet home and another small friendly confident dog to show him around. He has been with his foster for over a year and has started walking outside and back in without having to be picked up, and doesn’t run when walked up to. There is not an aggressive bone in his body, but he is not going to be a dog that wants to snuggle anytime in the near future, or long walks in the park. The reward with owning a dog like Marlin is watching him come out of his shell and become a new dog. It just takes time.
