Meet Cafe Au Lait 📍 Located in Mahomet IL 💲Adoption fee: $325 💻 Applications at leiashope.org Fae is our newest former mama, learning what it's like to live in freedom after spending her entire life in a puppy mill. She’s shy at first, but once she warms up, she politely asks for affection and enjoys quiet companionship. She will "bump" foster mom with her nose when she thinks she needs more attention and pets! She enjoys initiating play with her foster fur siblings, enjoys kids and has been around cats in her foster home. Fae is very curious and will jump up onto furniture to further explore her space and check things out! Such a sweet, sweet girl. Fae has been fully vetted and received a spay and dental with cleaning. She was evaluated by a cardiologist, as a heart murmur was detected at her initial exam. No medications or other treatments are needed at this time; she will need to return in 9 months for a follow up appointment. Our adult mill dogs are often timid and under socialized. For this, we will require a confident canine companion in Fae's adoptive home for her continued learning and growth as a dog. She will also need a secure, physical fence to keep her safe. Mill dogs are commonly flight risks and need to have set boundaries. Fae will need a patient and understanding home willing to help her continue adjusting at her own pace. Please Note: Leia’s Hope is a volunteer-run rescue. Application processing takes 7–10 business days depending on our availability and your references. All dogs are in foster homes—there is no central facility. Meet and greets are scheduled only after an approved application. We do not ship or transport. Adopters must travel to the dog’s location, and all family members and current pets must be present. Dogs are a lifetime commitment. Puppies, in particular, may live 15+ years. If you're not prepared to commit to that, please do not apply. Puppies under 9 months must go to a home where someone is frequently home, can provide proper training and socialization, and keep up with their energy and needs.

Story
Dunkin Applications at leiashope.org Located in Mahomet IL Dunkin is a cute, silly, playful male mini-bernadoodle puppy! He is constantly on the go and interested in everything that is happening in his foster home. Or maybe he is just nosy! He is 5 months old and has the confidence of a much older dog. His curiosity is so fun to watch as he explores his new world in rescue. And the zoomies! So many zoomies! Every toy, every leaf, every blade of grass is a chance to have an adventure. Dunkin has learned how to go out the back door to the yard, manage the steps to the patio (up and down) and how to use his legs to end up on the back of the couch. Such a busy boy! Like most puppies, he still believes fingers, toes and moving feet make excellent playthings. Puppy teeth are sharp, so his adopter should be prepared to continue working with him on appropriate puppy play, chewing and manners. He does not like a leash so that is something that will be worked on in his foster home. Dunkin is being crate trained in his foster home and is doing pretty well. He will be vocal for a few minutes after he goes in at bedtime but quickly settles in and goes to sleep. Then it's morning and time to potty outside, eat and start the fun all over again. Preference will be given to a home where Dunkin will have a playmate, whether that is children or a young, playful dog. He enjoys being part of the activity and would not be happy spending long days alone. Like all puppies, he needs frequent potty breaks, supervision, continued training and plenty of appropriate outlets for his energy. He is microchipped and current on his age-appropriate vaccines and veterinary care. His right eye is slightly smaller than his left. We are not sure why and at this time it does not affect his vision. Our vet recommends monitoring it as he gets older and evaluating it further if needed at a later time. Because of his age, Dunkin has not yet been neutered. His adopter will be responsible for having the procedure completed at the appropriate age. Leia’s Hope Canine Rescue will provide a credit directly to the adopter’s veterinarian to help with the cost of his neuter. We are a volunteer ran rescue and all our dogs are in foster homes. Please allow 7-10 business days for processing applications. A puppy is a commitment that may last 15 years or longer. Applicants should carefully consider the time, expense, training and lifestyle changes involved in raising a puppy before applying. Dunkin is located in Mahomet Illinois. Applicants must be willing to travel to Mahomet. We do not transport or ship dogs. Those flying must bring Dunkin home with them in the airplane cabin; he will not be permitted to travel in cargo. Leia’s Hope Canine Rescue is a foster-based, volunteer-run rescue. An approved application is required before meet-and-greets. Applying does not guarantee adoption, and applications are reviewed to find the home that is the best fit for each individual dog. Additional adoption information and applications can be found at leiashope.org.
