Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website."Meet our very own Shotgun Willie!" This gentle "little" giant has a heart of gold and is known for his calm and serene demeanor. While he enjoys spending time outside in the garden, he takes extra care, ensuring he sniffs every weed, and sometimes twice. Willie  is a great listener and is learning so many new words like come, sit, stay, and outside. When he's not busy napping after exploring his new world or expanding his vocabulary, as a "Toothless dog" you can find him gumming a soft chew toy (Kong, Frisco, Nylabone), or enjoying a healthy snack at the Lick Mat or Woof Party Pupsicle smeared or filled with plain Greek yogurt and canned pumpkin, or dog friendly peanut butter and plain, unsweetened applesauce (...simply scrumptious). He'd have you know that he's the most laid-back, easy-going dog on the entire planet and is the perfect blend of independence and loyalty, making him a wonderful companion for just about any family! Willie & Reba are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. Their adoption fees are $350 each, $700 plus tax total.  ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS: Physically fenced in yard to keep him safe. Willie must be adopted with Reba - they are a bonded pair and love each other so much. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.*All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne diseases, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped. Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received limited socialization, so they generally require extra time to settle in and acclimate. Skills like house training, leash walking, and mastering stairs may require a little extra practice. However, with understanding, patience, and a gentle hand, most of our dogs adapt quite quickly. June 19, 2026, 9:27 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website."Meet Reba!" Much like the Queen of Country Music, Reba is a natural at making new friends and would love to entertain you with her playful, curious, and loving little self while exploring her new world. After having performed her last rodeo as a breeding miniature poodle, she is ready to enjoy the simple things life has to offer, like a stroll in the garden to smell the miniature roses, a cozy spot for armchair birding, or a nice relaxing trip to the spa to keep those glamorous locks looking their best. When she's not busy perfecting her potty-training or on-leash skills, her favorite things to do include nibbling on soft chew toys (Kong, Frisco, Nylabone), noshing a healthy snack compliments of the Lick Mat or Woof Party Pupsicle consisting of plain Greek yogurt and canned pumpkin, or dog friendly peanut butter and plain, unsweetened applesauce (...simply delicious), or choosing a comfy spot with plush textiles for some R&R, even though she'd have you know she's "Not That Fancy"! Please make sure you give this sweet gal a chance to show you just how special she is. Reba and Willie are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. Their adoption fees are $350 each, $700 plus tax total. ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS: Physically fenced in yard to keep her safe. Merida can be a little nervous at first, but every day she grows a bit braver and more confident with her foster Mom. Underneath her shy personality is a gentle soul who really wants love, comfort, and a family of her own.   Merida enjoys quiet companionship, soft beds, and following the lead of the other dogs around her. Having another friendly dog in the home would help continue building her confidence as she learns how wonderful being a spoiled house pup can be.   A fenced yard is required for this timid little princess so she can safely explore at her own pace and continue gaining confidence outdoors.   Watching Merida come out of her shell has been such a rewarding journey, and now she’s ready to find the patient, loving home she deserves.   Apply online https://www.dakotadachshundrescue.org/animals/detail?AnimalID=22423123 Hi, I'm Merida! I'm a recent breeder release girl just beginning my journey to become a house pet.House training, walking on a harness and leash, learning about recall commands. This is a lot for a new girl on the block :)I require a physical fence to keep me safe. If I did not have a securely fenced yard I would bolt if I got spooked, things like sirens, big trucks, thunderstorms, fireworks, these things are pretty scarry as I have not experienced them before when I've been outside I am 7 years old with a heart full of love. Living with my foster mom, I've shown how sweet, friendly, and gentle I am. I've gotten along wonderfully with her cats, the family dog, and all the people in the house. I love snuggling up for a good nap. I'm also quite smart! I am learning how to be a family member quickly and I'm doing well with my house training. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will bring joy and affection into your home, I'm the perfect match. Let's start our adventure together!    I am 7 yrs old, I weigh 36 pounds, my adoption fee is $325 plus sales tax $14.63= $339.63 My adoption fee help with my vetting needs such as HW test, rabies, DHPPL, Bordetella, spay, dental  and microchipping.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 24, 2026, 1:01 pm
