Story
Meet Edison and Piper, a bonded duo who have made it very clear they are a package deal. Edison is a 14-month-old, 12-pound Poodle mix (with strong “probably a ShiPoo” vibes, according to our groomer), and Piper, his 4-month-old protégé weighing in at 9 pounds. Edison is fully grown, and Piper is expected to stay under 20 pounds… though she’s currently focused on growing into her role as Edison’s full-time shadow. They came into rescue when their previous family moved and couldn’t take them along. It’s been a big adjustment, and both are still a bit shy as they learn that the world can be a safe, kind place. The good news? They’re not figuring it out alone. Edison is Piper’s compass. Piper is Edison’s biggest fan. Together, they are a tiny, fluffy follow-the-leader operation. They eat together, sleep together, play together, and navigate new experiences side by side. If one takes a step forward, the other is right there, like a built-in confidence boost with four extra paws. Edison is housetrained and Piper has decided that whatever Edison does is clearly the correct life choice. Outside? She’s already on it. Learning curve? She’ll just trail behind him and take notes. Both dogs do well with other dogs and would thrive in a calm, patient home that will give them the time and space they need to continue building confidence. A physically fenced yard is important for them, offering a safe place to explore, practice bravery, and perfect their synchronized “tiny parade of two.” Edison and Piper aren’t interested in going their separate ways. They rely on each other for comfort and courage, and their bond is the heart of who they are. If you’re the kind of person who understands that some stories are meant to be told in pairs, Edison and Piper are ready to write their next chapter with you. Expect twice the sweetness, twice the snuggles, and a loyal little duo always just a step behind. Edison is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested and microchipped. Piper is spayed up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. If you would like to meet Edison and Piper please fill out the adoption application on our website: furfunrescue.org. If you have questions about them you can email Rox@furfunrescue.org or call 319-929-6657. Adopters must live within a two hour radius of Cedar Rapids, IA. Indoor homes only. Adoption fee: $600.

Story
***The first step in the adoption process is to complete the application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org*** This adorable little princess is Frankie.  Frankie was an owner surrender because the gal thought she was too much puppy for her!  Well of course she was, at 11 months old....she is a puppy!  Anyway, Frankie came to our care and is now looking for the home that makes her happy!  Frankie is adorable and in her toddler stage of puppy hood.  She loves to chew on things so having a nice assortment of appropriate items for her to fulfill her chewing craving will be important.  She loves to play, isn't good at being on her own and would do best in a home with a companion dog or at the very least a cat that will let her cuddle up with them!   She loves loves loves attention from everyone and her perferred spot to sleep is anywhere with her people.  She is still working on house training and how shown some success with piddle pads.  She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped.  She is the kind of dog that will require regular grooming about every 6 weeks or so.  Her adoption fee is $300.00 May 13, 2026, 3:35 pm

Story
Welcome to rescue, Ellie!  Ellie is a senior Mini Poodle mix, born 2010.  Her previous owner developed health issues and can no longer care for her.  She is adjusting to her new surroundings and getting to know her foster family.  Ellie is a very sweet girl and just look at that face!!  She is only 16 pounds and needs to be in a home with older children only (age 13+).  She seems to fine with other dogs and cats, she just doesn't interact with them much - possibly because she can't see too well.  She has shown no aggression towards them.  She also has some hearing loss.  She walks great on a leash and she will go to the door when she needs to go outside - she just won't be able to wait long if you're not there to let her out.  She is 14 after all!  Ellie also take a Potassium Supplement every day. Ellie is looking for someone she can hang out with because she just seems to want to be with her person.  She follows her foster mom around and wants to stay close.  If you're looking for a sweet senior girl, Ellie would definitely make a great buddy!  The suggested adoption donation for Ellie is $350, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.
