Story
**Meet Ted!** Ted is a 3-year-old, 14-pound little guy who has been quietly learning that the world isn't quite as scary as he once thought. Like many breeder-release dogs, Ted didn't have much experience with normal family life before coming into rescue. Because of that, he is still a very fearful dog who needs a patient adopter willing to let him move at his own pace. Ted is not looking for a busy household or lots of new adventures. His perfect home is a calm, quiet one with a secure fenced yard, no children, and a female adopter who understands that trust is earned slowly. The good news? Once Ted trusts you, his sweet personality shines through. His foster mom has watched him transform from a dog who wanted to disappear into one who happily snuggles on the couch, seeks out affection, and enjoys spending time with the people he knows. He has learned to trust his foster mom and her adult daughter when she visits, and he absolutely loves to curl up with the family's dog. Ted is playful with other dogs and would likely benefit from a confident canine companion who can help show him that life is good. While another dog is not required, it would be a wonderful bonus for Ted. One of Ted's most endearing qualities is his gentle nature. He is especially sweet and respectful with the senior citizens who visit the home and enjoys quietly being part of their company. Ted does best when his world stays small and predictable. He isn't the type of dog who will thrive going everywhere with his family or meeting lots of new people. Instead, he's looking for someone who will appreciate the quiet victories: a tail wag, a cuddle on the couch, choosing to stay close instead of hiding, and the trust that grows a little more each day. Potty training is still a work in progress, and Ted currently wears a belly band while he continues learning. Ted may never be the life of the party, but for the right person, he will be a deeply rewarding companion. His foster mom adores him, and we know there is someone out there who will love him just as much. If you believe the best relationships are built on patience, understanding, and celebrating the little things, Ted may be the perfect match for you. All Heart of America Humane Society dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations. Adoption fee is $250. 🚨 FEMALE-ONLY HOME. NO MEN. 🚨Please do not apply unless your home has no men. Moosh Moosh is a retired puppy mill survivor who experienced severe abuse. She is incredibly loving with women but is terrified of men. Their presence sends her into a state of panic, and it isn’t fair to ask her to live with that fear. She is a tiny, sweet mini Poodle who would happily spend all day curled up in your lap and sleeps at the foot of the bed every night. She’s dog-door trained, has excellent house manners, and does well with other dogs. She currently takes Prozac to help manage her anxiety and requires a sedative for grooming. She has not been around young children, but given her history and anxious temperament, we’re looking for an adult home. Her dream home is with a single woman or an all-female household where she can finally relax and feel safe. This is an incredibly difficult decision, but our household is almost entirely men.

Story
Hi, Im Stone, a handsome 1andamp;frac12;-year-old Poodle whos just starting to discover how wonderful life can be.

I havent had the easiest beginning, and some parts of the world are still a little scary to me. Because of that, I can be shy when meeting new people and may need some time before I feel comfortable. But if you give me patience, kindness, and a gentle approach, youll quickly see the sweet boy underneath.

At just a year and a half old, I have so much life ahead of me and so many things left to learn. Im still figuring out what it means to be a cherished family member, but each day I grow a little braver and a little more confident. Once I start to trust, my playful personality begins to shine through, and I can be quite the happy, goofy young pup.

Im looking for a calm and understanding home that will let me adjust at my own pace and celebrate all my little victories along the way. A family that can help me build confidence, show me new experiences, and remind me that people can be kind would be my dream come true.

The best things in life are worth waiting for, and I promise that investing your time and love in me will be incredibly rewarding. Watching me learn, grow, and blossom into the dog I was always meant to be is a journey well get to share together.

If youre looking for a gentle soul who just needs a chance to shine, I might be the perfect match for you. Story
Hi there, my name is Archie, and Im a 6-year-old Miniature Poodle with a heart thats ready to heal and a future thats finally looking bright.

My life didnt get off to the best start. For six years, all I knew was life in a puppy mill. I never got the chance to learn what it meant to be a beloved family member, to play with toys, or to curl up beside someone who cared about me. But those days are behind me now, and Im ready to discover all the wonderful things Ive been missing.

Im looking for a calm and quiet home where I can take things at my own pace. The world is still a pretty big and scary place to me, so I can be very timid when meeting new people. Gentle voices, patient hearts, and kind hands go a long way in helping me feel safe. Once I realize youre a friend, youll get to see the sweet, loving little guy hiding beneath my shy exterior.

Every day, Im learning something new. Im slowly figuring out how to trust, how to play, and how to just be a dog. Its a work in progress, but Im getting there. The people caring for me say its incredibly rewarding to watch me come out of my shell, and I cant wait to continue that journey with a family of my own.

Because I need a peaceful environment to thrive, any children in my home should be over the age of 8 and understand that I may need a little extra patience and understanding while I adjust.

What I need most is someone willing to give me the time, love, and security Ive never had before. In return, I promise to be the sweetest companion and a reminder that second chances really do change lives.

If you think you might be the family Ive been waiting for, Id love to meet you. Come meet me today and see if were meant to start this new chapter together.

Love,

Archie

Story
Meet Maggie! At 7 years old and approximately 45 pounds, Maggie is a beautiful Standard Poodle with a heart full of love just waiting for the right family. After recently losing her beloved senior owner, she's hoping to find a second chance at happiness. Maggie still has plenty of energy for daily walks and adventures and walks wonderfully on a leash. She's also house trained and kennel trained, making her an easy addition to the right home. Like many dogs who have experienced loss, Maggie can be a little shy in new situations and may be especially nervous around men at first. She'll thrive with a patient family willing to let her settle in at her own pace. Once she trusts you, you'll have a loyal, affectionate companion by your side. Her foster home includes both men and women, and she's making great progress. Maggie also gets along well with other dogs and cats, so she'd be happy to share her home with a furry sibling. •••Maggie's Ideal Home••• Calm, patient family Older children or adults Another friendly dog is a bonus! Someone ready to give a deserving girl the love she's been missing Maggie has so much love left to give. Could you be the family to help write her next chapter? Maggie will come fully vetted, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $275. Apply to adopt Maggie today at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/LUCK/Dog or at www.lucky13rescue.org.
