He’s a thoughtful little guy who watches his people closely, leans in for affection, and enjoys calm, cozy moments spent by your side—he truly just wants to belong. As a shelter dog, Pickles’ journey is different from that of a dog adopted from a breeder, and he may need extra time, patience, and reassurance while adjusting to a new home, routines, and environment. At this time, Pickles does not know any basic commands, but he would greatly benefit from obedience training, which will help build his confidence, strengthen his bond with his family, and set him up for long-term success. With consistency, gentle guidance, and love, Pickles will continue to blossom into a loyal, affectionate companion, and the reward of giving a shelter dog the time and support he needs is a deep, meaningful bond that lasts a lifetime.Pickles would do best in a home that understands the value of going at his pace and celebrating small wins along the way. He’s eager to learn, wants to please, and will thrive with positive reinforcement, structure, and encouragement. Whether it’s learning his first command, exploring his new neighborhood, or settling into a favorite spot on the couch, Pickles will appreciate a family willing to guide him with patience and kindness. In return, he promises heartfelt devotion, gentle affection, and the special kind of love that only comes from a dog who knows he’s finally found his forever home.If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.My adoption fee is $300
