Name: Kobe Gender: Neutered Male Breed Guess: Mini Poodle mix Age: 2 years old Weight Guess: 15 pounds Adoption fee: $495 Am I good with: Kids: Unknown Cats: Will test upon request Dogs: Meet and Greet Required About me: Hi there, I'm Kobe, a 2-year-old male mini Poodle mix, with a heart full of sweetness. I love playful fetch sessions, gentle ear scratches, and curling up at your feet for cozy naps. I'm a total sweetheart who adores meeting new friends and giving lots of waggy-tail greetings! Ready for a loyal, loving companion? I'm your boy! I've been at the ARP since 4/27/25 and am currently at the ARP. The Animal Rescue Project (www.animalrescueproject.org) is committed to the best possible veterinary care for the pets it rescues and it is looking for adopters who will be similarly committed. Adoptions are NOT first come, first served! We seek to choose the best fit for the approved adopter and pet. Please understand that these animals are still new to us and their needs and requirements can change at any time as we learn more about them. We will try our best to get them updated online as soon as possible. All dogs and puppies are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medication to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and ticks they may have. Dogs greater than six months of age are checked for heartworm. If heartworm positive, the Animal Rescue Project treats the disease. Dogs and pups receive all age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper, and dogs greater than four months of age are also vaccinated for rabies, in compliance with State of Michigan laws. All dogs are also microchipped. Most dogs and older puppies are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of puppies not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $50 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization. The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan.

Story
Meet French Fry – A Gentle Soul Looking for Love! This sweet 6-year-old mini poodle is named French Fry, and he’s searching for a quiet, patient forever home where he can truly come out of his shell. Update from his foster: “French Fry is a bit nervous and skittish right now — if you approach too quickly, he’ll politely back away. But don’t let that fool you — once he trusts you, he loves gentle head scratches and might even curl up in your lap (like he did with me yesterday!). Today he wasn’t quite ready again, and that’s okay — he’s learning at his own pace. He’s doing great in the car, riding calmly in his crate, and we’ve started feeding him there too to help him get comfortable. He loves his meals and gets so excited when it’s food time. French Fry looks up to my little dog and follows them around, which is just the cutest thing. He absolutely loves being outside on a tie-out while I’m with him — and those little ears of his? Now that they’re all cleaned up and visible, they’re adorable beyond words.” French Fry needs a home that understands shy dogs and will give him the space and love he needs to bloom. Could that be with you? Please share to help him find his person — someone with a soft voice, a kind heart, and maybe a dog buddy or two to show him the ropes. Or apply today @ www.sgdhrescue.dog

Story
With all this snow, some of us are getting the winter blues and are thinking of warm happy places. These sunny cities just arrived 2/17/25. Since this adorable crew just arrived, we don’t have much info yet, but we will update information as we learn about each pup. All of our pups will be fixed prior to adoption. They are currently living in temporary foster homes until they get fixed/find their forever homes. Our fosters will update us soon with pictures and bios. Many of these pups are shy at first as they have had a major change and are living inside a home with a family for the first time. They will need work on potty training, crate training, walking on a leash and basic commands. Check out our Facebook page for more information including our up coming adoption events in Brighton, MI. https://www.facebook.com/sgdhrescue?mibextid=LQQJ4d Sorry, we do not get message through Petfinder.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Einstein (formerly Tiny) is making a return to MMAR bio written by adopted mom: Einstein is the sweetest little guy. He is very smart and very obedient. He loves to play fetch. He gets very possessive of his owners because he loves them so much. For this reason, he should be an only pet because he may become aggressive with other animals. Recently he was diagnosed with diabetes and is on insulin twice daily and a special diet. He is responding well to the insulin, but because of the diabetes, he sometimes can't hold his bladder while I am at work or overnight. Not to worry though, he is completely potty pad trained. I would keep him in a heartbeat, but he has been too aggressive towards my senior dog that I've had for 13 years and she is constantly on edge around him. I can't do that to her in her final years. He's such a goofy little love. I'm going to miss him.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  ********************************************************************************** We show some of our adoptable dogs at PetSmart, Utica, each Saturday between the hours of 11:00am and 3:00pm.  Cats typically don't do well at events, so they only attend with a pre-approved meet and greet appointment. If you are interested in a particular pet, we suggest you email: mmarpaws@gmail.com to see if that pet will be there.   Applications are approved on the basis of the best and most appropriate home for the animal, not on a first come, first served basis. On site adoption available to pre-approved applicants only.   Adoption fees go towards vaccines, heartworm prevention/testing, flea/tick prevention, spay/neuter and other medical problems that may arise.   MMAR is an all volunteer, foster based, 501 (c) 3, non profit organization. Without your donation, wonderful pets like these have to be passed by because we cannot afford their care.   If you would like to donate please send donation to: MMAR Box 180155 Utica, MI 48318   Donate online at https://www.sanilacscoopers.org/   Please email us at mmarpaws@gmail.com for additional information or to set up special appointments March 29, 2025, 6:47 am
