Story
Bandit is a 12-year-old, 15 pound Dachshund/Poodle mix who has been through more heartbreak than any dog should have to endure.
Within a short period of time, both the woman who loved him and her daughter passed away. Bandit was then cared for by another relative who, sadly, was no longer able to keep up with his needs. By the time he came to Tysons Place, he was covered in fleas, suffering from a painful skin infection, and so severely matted that his fur had formed dreadlocks. He had also been living in a room with garbage on the floor. Thankfully, he was able to pass the garbage he ate safely in his stool.
We are incredibly grateful that other members of Bandits family recognized that he needed help and reached out to us.
Since arriving at Tysons Place, Bandit has gotten the care he desperately needed. He has completed treatment for his skin and ear infections, his painful mats have been shaved away, and he is already feeling so much better.
Bandit does have arthritis in his hips and will need lifelong daily pain medication to keep him comfortable. Otherwise, he is a healthy senior boy—and once his beautiful coat grows back, he is going to be one extra-gorgeous dog!
But Bandits real beauty is in his personality. He walks well on a leash, has lived with both dogs and cats, and absolutely loves people. His favorite place is in your lap, where he will happily give you a hug.
He is housebroken, although as an older gentleman, he appreciates having several potty breaks throughout the day. Because he loves his people and enjoys being close to them, a home where someone is retired, works from home, or is otherwise home often would be ideal.

After everything Bandit has lost, we want his next chapter to be filled with comfort, love, and someone who will never let him feel forgotten again.
Could you be Bandit's forever person?
