Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Ira is a gentle and sweet boy; he would love a home of his own where he would be treated like the prince he is.  He came to CARE in horrible condition and quickly learned to love the good life.  He is a blind and mostly deaf senior boy, estimating his age between 9 and 11.  He has a lot of life left to enjoy.  While he does sleep a lot, when he is awake, he is busy.  He will need a family that is home more than they are not.  He enjoys extra-long walks and time outside.  Ira requires frequent professional grooming every 6–8 weeks.  Due to Ira’s blindness, he cannot be left unsupervised outside (EVER!).   He is super smart and will quickly learn his way around his new home. The key is not to move his things, ever.  He will need a family that is able to carry him inside and out when he needs to go.  He will weigh around 20 pounds when he is fully healthy.  Due to Ira’s small size all children in the home must be at least 8 years old.  Ira will be placed in a home within 60 miles of Pittsboro.  Ira has been neutered and microchipped and is up to date on all vaccines.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 26, 2024, 6:11 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › SOCIALIZATION SPECIAL NEEDS. Fozzy Fosbourne will need an extremely special, patient adopter who will take things at HIS pace. He was part of a breeder surrender from Missouri. He clearly never had proper, or any, human interaction, as he is painfully nervous around people. However, in his few months in rescue, he is learning that humans aren’t so terrible!!! He can be both approach and touch averse, and he startles very easily, but he will now stand quietly next to you, waiting to be picked up and cradled like a baby. He has not been leash walked, as he’s still nervous and startles way too easily; he may never be a dog who will be up for walks or hikes or public adventures. Any candidates need the full understanding that he is considered a flight risk, so extra diligence will be needed to ensure Fozzy Fosbourne does not ever get loose; a fully fenced/secure backyard is required. Animals, however, are his JAM! Fozzy Fosbourne loves to play bow, rip and romp with his canine companions; he gains confidence from other dogs and will often look to them to see what he should be doing. Another dog, or dogs, is required in his forever home. He does not mind cats one bit and will let them come up and sniff all over him; one will even wrap her arms around his neck with zero reaction from the Fozzbutt! He’s fine with human children, too, but an overly rambunctious or active household would likely leave him in a constantly startled state. Fozzy Fosbourne’s forever home will need to be on the quiet side. If you’re an amazing and patient human who’s looking for a special boy to join your family, consider applying for Fozzy Fosbourne.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 27, 2024, 10:07 am
