Story
Hi, I’m Arlo! I know my scruffy face is pretty adorable, but my foster mom says my sweet heart is even better. Arlo is proof that love is worth the wait. After everything he's been through, this sweet, low-maintenance boy is looking for a calm home where he can finally relax. He may be shy with new people and uneasy in unfamiliar situations, but once you earn his trust, you'll have a loyal best friend for life. Arlo is happiest with simple things—unconditional love, tasty treats, and someone to share his days with. He prefers not to be left alone for long, but if you're looking for a gentle, easygoing companion, Arlo is ready to steal your heart. Before coming to Dallas DogRRR, I lived in a hoarding situation, so I’m still learning that the world isn’t such a scary place. Every day I get a little braver and a little more confident. My foster mom says I have a very old soul, and I think she’s right. I’m a quiet, gentle guy who loves having a routine and knowing I have a safe place to call my own. I’m happiest in a calm home with patient people who will let me blossom at my own pace. Another confident dog would be a big bonus—I learn a lot by watching my furry friends! I also enjoy spending time outside, and one thing that surprises everyone… I actually love bath time! I don’t need a lot to be happy. Just a soft bed, kind humans, a little patience, and the chance to keep learning what it means to be loved. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a gentle heart and a whole lot of scruffy cuteness, I think we might just be the perfect match. I can’t wait to meet you!

Story
All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Puppies adopted under the age of five months require a spay/neuter contract, and all dogs are required to be spayed by six months unless otherwise medically noted. Our dogs are currently on heartworm preventative. Puppies receive 3 to 4 rounds of vaccinations depending on their age, and adults receive two rounds unless they've been with us longer than a year, in which case they receive the booster update. You can complete an application or view all the adoptable pets on our website at www.dallasdog.org/adopt. Upon receiving your application, please allow us 2-3 business days to review and process.

Story
Margaret is a former breeder who is becoming accustomed to being around people. She loves to be outside with the other dogs, running around the yard and having fun so much so that at times she doesn’t want to come in the house. She has good house manners, and while she is kennel trained, she would prefer to be out and about in the house. Not sure what happened at her previous home but she is reluctant to go in and out of the door. Great progress has been made in her foster home and maybe a doggie door would work for her, but this is not mandatory for her new home. Margaret’s favorite game is keep-away. She plays a great game with the other dogs and sometimes with her foster mom. She does love her toys. This little lady needs a patient family and is waiting for someone to spoil her. Could it be your family?

Story
Meet Bunny! A spirited one-year-old Miniature Poodle currently in Amarillo, TX, whose loving personality comes wrapped in a beautiful red-and-white coat and 12 pounds of playful charm. Bunny is an affectionate, energetic girl who likes being right at the center of her favorite person's world! She is a true velcro companion, happiest when she can soak up plenty of one-on-one attention. One of her sweetest habits is curling up beside her person, resting her head on their leg, and drifting peacefully to sleep. When playtime arrives, Bunny is ready for action with balls, chew bones, ropes, and stuffed toys! This clever youngster is house-trained, uses a doggie door independently, and comes when called with a whistle. Because she relies on a doggie door and is not yet leash-trained, Bunny needs a home with a securely fenced yard rather than an apartment. She has also completed a two-week training program. Bunny is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and healthy. Her poodle coat receives regular grooming every four weeks, with brushing between appointments. She does experience carsickness, which her veterinarian says she may outgrow, so longer trips should be planned thoughtfully, and a home within a comfortable driving distance is ideal. Bunny enjoys meeting other dogs, but she does not want to share her favorite person's attention, so she needs to be the only pet in her new home. If another pet receives affection, she inserts herself right into the middle of it. When especially excited for attention, she may rear up and scratch. She has never bitten and has shown no aggression, and continued positive reinforcement can help this intelligent girl practice calmer ways to ask for affection. Because Bunny wants her person all to herself, she must be the only pet in her new home. Her ideal family is an experienced, physically steady adult in a calm, adult-only home with a securely fenced yard rather than an apartment, and someone around often to give her the one-on-one attention she craves. Her experience with children and cats is limited, so a home without young children is best. Bunny brings enthusiasm, intelligence, cuddles, and plenty of poodle personality to every day. With structure, affection, regular grooming, and room for play, she is ready to make her next chapter wonderfully lively! Story
Frodo is a lil senior that was dropped off at a local, crowded shelter. He so deserves to live the rest of his life loved and cared for! Frodo is very independent. Not a clingy guy at all. He does like to follow his people around the house so that he's not alone in a room, but he will not be all up in your lap! Frodo does not need a lot of physical attention either. He would just love a quiet home where he can relax and enjoy his senior years.  Applications to adopt Frodo are at codysfriendsrescue.org ##2741118##
